He better... Were gonna be bringing in studs every year so we don't have rely on "hope he clicks"

Gus is going to have to be the man. I want to pound the ball to take the pressure off our QB. Duke's health is question mark. Dallas can only take us so far as a RB.

Better than todd gurley. Atleast thats what I was told on this exact board

No. Maybe as he develops. Gurley had an incredible true freshman year for Georgia. You need to go back and watch Gurley, then watch Gus. Big difference.

He'll be solid to good for us, but I don't ever see him being "special."

If he leaves here as good as Mike James that's a win.

With all the recruitniks focusing on Cook, Gus the bus hasn't got much attention on this board.

Pad level aside, do you think he can develop into a special player? Or is he more of a rotational workhorse like a Mike James? (Or maybe something else?

I´m in the minority here, but with the cuts this guy have(for his size), I can see he developing into a special player. Imo he will do a big jump next season...

The last couple of games he looked like he was responding to coaching. Pad level was much better against Pitt. He's **** fast and cuts great for a 230lbs RB.

Agree with you, he looked better finishing runs against Pitt.
I agree with both... Gus really looked better against Pitt.

Like Cash said, these cuts and speed are incredible for a 220/230 RB, and something to build on. Plus, as someone said before, he shows good patience looking for the blocks.

Curious to see how he develope

We have seen many highly rated players develope under this staff and Gus is one that I think will follow in line.

One thing this staff does well is get the talent out of players. Made some people some money.

I like Gus a lot. I see him as being a consistent, viable option for a 3-5 yard gain and sometimes that's ALL YOU NEED. I swear our offense is so reliable on those home run plays but all a great team needs to do is move the chains, and I think he's going to be a SOLID power-back for us in the upcoming years.

I just think he is missing a bunch of running back skills and instincts that we are used to. In my opinion he will drop in the depth chart with the addition of yearby and powell (if he sticks at rb) and cook (if we get him) or sony (if we get him) and then the following year by Mark Walton (if he indeed moves up a year) and whoever else we add that next year. I'm sure he is a great guy, and i will always root for him, but I just don't see what I want from him.

I was at the game against Savannah State where he got a lot of carries. He ran hard and fought for extra yards after initial contact. Good speed for his size and looked good as a true freshman against lesser competition. I look forward to him stepping up next year and giving Duke a rest on third downs and short yardage situations. Need him (or anyone else besides Duke) to step up and improve pass blocking skills on 3rd and passing downs to avoid concussions.

Could be a Najea Davenport type player....line him up at RB, FB or H-Back.

Will be a very valuable player here. Jimbo Fisher wanted him bad....Jimbo can evaluate RB talent.

He ran with a good burst in the Pitt game. He looked pretty strong and violent. He should be a guy who can get a good 7-10 carries a game and help out going forward. Maybe become a better option towards the end of his career.

Like him quite a bit. Would be happier with him if he finished runs violently.
