Not to thread jack...but i'd be very very very surprised if UM got any word before the Johnny autograph mess. It seemed kinda like a joke before, but now a decision really might come before the UF game. They're a freakin' joke.
 
I'd like to know what kind of clearinghouse issues that are non-academic...that's the first I've ever heard of that one. Sounds like to me it's a paperwork thing.

Orlando Franklin was admitted and had passed some summer classes when he was flagged. We haven't had this problem in a long time. Hopefully it gets cleared up quickly. Don't get fooled, we need this kid on the field this year.

Just days after winning the Super Bowl MVP, QB John Manziel has been declared ineligable by the NCAA.
The NCAA, which formerly controled major college sports, has concluded that while Manziel did accept improper payment for signing items for a sports agent, the sum was less than he had in the change pocket of his Mercedes super premium SUV. Therefore there was no prejudice to member schools. His ineligibility was due to the fact that he had a tattoo of the logo of the University of Texas on his body and did not pay the copyright fee.
 
This is the first time I've ever heard of an NCAA Eligibility Center. Thanks Emmert.

This may have absolutely nothing to do with it... but last October, a 15 year old girl who went to Edwards' HS in Staten Island killed herself after being bullied when a video of her having *** with numerous members of the football team got out. It was rumored Edwards was one of the guys in the video. He supposedly had nothing to do with and did not take part in the bullying. But I believe he was suspended. In his Twitter profile, he has "RIP Felicia" written, the girl.

Might have nothing to do with it, but just putting it out there.

Gus Edwards was missing in action on the practice field this week, and today the reason was revealed: The freshman back was flagged by the NCAA Clearinghouse.

But it appears Edwards will be back on the field sooner rather than later.

Edwards' high school coach, Jim Munson, told CaneSport that Edwards is set to return to the team on Tuesday.

"It was an academic thing with his transcript," Munson said. "He'll be okay. Everything was certified. It's nothing major and it's something that is getting resolved and is going to be resolved. There was an issue, it's being resolved and he'll be back on Tuesday the 20th - that's what I've been told."

Munson said the transcript problem was detected "early on, we worked to resolve it all summer long and we came up with a resolution."

He says the NCAA is being helpful in getting Edwards cleared before the first day of classes.

"They didn't drag their feet," Munson said

Edwards is competing for an immediate role on the team, but Dallas Crawford and Eduardo Clements are ahead of him on the depth chart.

The time he's missing on the practice field certainly won't help his battle to play right away.

"He's upset about missing practice since he was doing pretty well," Munson said.

Mother****, its Thursday...do those ****suckers have a time machine to get Gus back the practices he missed cause of their dumb asses.
