After we played Florida, guidry went on the record saying Florida ran exactly what they expected based on film. And didn't switch it up. He then said in another interview that teams scheme for you and then go back to film if it's not working.

I understand we've had many missed tackles and lapses, but it seems VT and cal both focused more on what they saw on tape and tailoring things. Obviously they got up before half and never needed to go back on their strategy.

Are we preparing for what we see them do in past weeks and aren't self scouting enough on d? Because guidry can **** sure fix it at half time, which leads me to believe the original plan wasn't perfect.

I've watched countless hours of our offensive tape this year and haven't focused on d. You tell me?

Every team is gonna hit us on the edges and isolate our safety play for big plays.. Get used to it

The roots of both VT and Cal success are Brohm/UL, and that will continue until Guidry sells out some to take those away and forces them to try something else.

Our back 7 has serious deficiencies, but giving up 3 50 yard plus plays in the first 3 series, two of which were TDs is inexcusable. Really bad teams don't even do that. It's on him.

Guildry gameplan is not bad he just does not have the backend talent for it. If the front four can create pressure it helps the cover for the backend. Teams are getting ahead of the sticks by getting 3-5 yards on first down. Playbook if wide open when you essentially have two to three chances to get 5-7 yards for a first. 2nd half adjustments have pretty much been "win first down". This defense is at it strength when the offense is in 2nd and 3rd and long.

young guys are getting playing time and are completely messing up their assignments .

popo is the main culprit.
Popo may have blitzed on that but we don’t know exactly what the assignment was. Because both tight ends stayed to block and then he went. If both tight ends stay in, the safety (7) has whoever comes out on his side. Both the safety and the corner stood there and watched the EB run past them 🤦🏾‍♂️

I don't agree. GUIDRY needs to tighten up. I know we have to rely on our D line but we need to see what Stafford has. We need brown back and we need to see zaquan play more. Pope play more. Let's see what the washington brothers can do.

I don't think we are going to get to where we want with Harris playing safety. Powell had a bad game yesterday but he deserves a pass on 1 bad game.

Bottom line is we cannot let teams do what Cal and v tech did. Made us all think we were the same canes that we've been accustomed too.

Those names I mention earlier will solve the problem.

Oh yeah. JUSTIN SCOTT too.

Not to mention guidry's interview after v tech game all he did was talk about the offense. Let's get you back to focusing on defense.

So your solution - for a top 6 team at the moment - is a youth movement?

If you don't have the talent to run the D you are running you need to change it up. Otherwise you move into bonehead D'onofrio category

Mario said in his post game they had two weeks to prep for Miami and threw a ton at them
Uh huh. Well his teams haven't exactly dominated after bye weeks in recent history so I'm not really buying that. If that's such an advantage we should capitalize on it for once.

Can Justin Scott play safety? DL isn't the problem.
