GT fans the worst of any opponent we faced this year

The ones I sat around were completely fine, aside from not knowing the targeting rule changed to the 6” circle at the top of the helmet.

I was at UNC when Conner Barth kicked the GW FG, at NC State when Russell Wilson lit us up. Those were rough games. Heck even App State fans were more belligerent than what we experienced yesterday.

I would say they were on average stupid, but not hostile.

I'm ok to hear other fans' perspectives about our fan base. And yes, we know some of our fans can be pretty obnoxious and whiny. Seems like you came here respectfully and looking for a civil discussion. Not hurling childish insults like that other guy.
Ya Miami has a good mix of obnoxious fans and die hard football fans. Part of the issue is the taunting of Tech fans as we are simply parking or walking into our own stadium. I’m sure it goes both ways but it just isn’t something I see when we play Clemson, Notre Dame, Ole Miss (recent teams we have played that travel well). Georgia fans used to treat us this way but it is such a non rivalry now that they don’t even bother.

Now for my experience yesterday: we pulled into our normal parking deck which is for season ticket pass holders only. It was obvious that a bunch of crappy Tech fans gave away or sold their parking pass. The Miami crowd took over the top 2 levels and set up tents in open spaces. That is fine until there are finite spaces left and no where for pass holders to park. We asked 5 different Miami tailgate parties if we could park in a spot that they were using for chairs or grills. They all shooed us away and most of them just cursed us out. We eventually had to just leave the deck because Miami fans would not give up open spaces. I had my 2 year old son with me and was not up for a confrontation.

This issue was caused by Tech fans selling their passes, by Tech staff not enforcing parking etiquette, and by Miami fans not wanting to be reasonable.

Now on the flip side, the Miami fans who sat behind us in the stands were awesome people. They knew their football, they were super nice to my son, and we all had a great time. I also saw Tech fans acting obnoxious after the win. That’s another bad look.

I understand it’s college football and crowds can get rowdy. We only seem to get this kind of treatment when Miami or FSU comes to Atlanta. Either way we had a great time after the parking fiasco.

Fair response. I can understand your frustration as a home fan in your own stadium being treated unruly and impolite by the visiting team's fans. Nobody wants to be disrespected in their own home. Would leave bad taste for most people I would imagine. Glad the Miami fans in the stands were awesome.

I think maybe in a different year, some of those fans may not have been as discourteous. Winning seems to change people's behavior and attitude. Nothing wrong with being a little ****y and confident, but don't let it spill over to rude behavior. Hopefully, this loss humbled the team and some of our fans.
