Come on you got 90 players on a team and another 50-100 being recruited. thats 150 now add in parents and its almost 500 people. Your gonna have a few people who have some words or clash sometimes.

She said " half the team would transfer if they didn't have to sit out ". That speaks loudly coming from her .

IMO , Al isn't the reason these kids are coming. I believe a bunch of these guys want to be Canes , regardless of the coach.

I always hear in recruiting " choose the school, not the coach. There's no guarantees the coach will be there".

Just look at Shaq and his dad, they're Canes, he didn't choose UM for the coach.

I met D. Lawson for the first time last weekend and while talking to him he told me the main reason he switched from Miami to Vtech, was that on his visit several current players at miami told him not to come to miami because Golden wasn't trustworthy and showed favoritism to certain players and they wished they hadn't committed to miami.

And some of you think this guy is going to send Manuel to Miami.

What I'm about to say isn't specifically in reference to Simmons, even though I prefer Rice & Jean-Baptiste and would've preferred to see us remain patient at LB to see if we could land them. But you'd think one of the advantages of having so many elite early verbal commits is that the staff could afford to be selective with which recruits they accept commitments from, even though there will inevitably be decommitments as we all know.

Really think they should've waited on this one. Oh well.

Welcome to the U to this kid but I agree with you on this one. 2016 is all about evaluations. This is directed at Golden and not Simmons. Golden needs to be smart and only add other elite LBs now based on evaluation. Take advantage of selling a recruit on playing with three other elite guys. I just watched Simmons film and compared it to Handy's film from columbus, along with other SFL LBs and seen a big difference whether its delivering a pop or speed to the ball. I felt the same way when we took Hinson. Lets not just start off having the #1 class cause we have more quantity then everyone else now but lets end #1 because we have more quality then everyone else.

Exactly. It's not a knock at all on Simmons to have this stance. Congrats to him and hope he balls out, but having a preference for more athletic, twitchy LBs like Rice or Jean-Baptiste is perfectly sensible.

I am not one to tell people how to be fans but I for one am not going to wish loses on my team just because I don't believe in the coach. If a chimp was the head coach of the U I would root them on and hope for the best. If Golden gets fired because he can't get it done, then so be it. If he turns things around winning games and is retained, then harray, we back. Some of you are suggesting if he wins, you still want the ship to blow up and I can fathom that.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the LB's we offered. FSU jumped on Rice and we jumped on Simmons. There is nothing in either players tape that indicates either team is getting a lesser backer. I personally like Baptiste because he is taller (lentgh) and faster (4.6) than the others. He is still uncommited and is someone we need to go after hard.

D. Lawson didn't see a path to play time so he de-commited. He de-commited right after Kaaya was named all ACC. All that other stuff is bull****. I have friends who tell me don't work for Google because they play favorites. Do you think that is gonna stop me from taking the opportunity to join Google. **** No!!! If I like the company (or in this case school) and I believe in my abilities, I am going in with guns a blazing. If that is indeed why he de-commited than he is weak minded and will pout anywhere he goes.

The Canes are still restricted by the NCAA to 1 unofficial visit during the season because of the sanctions. That's one of the reasons for getting these early commits. They need to use the spring game, camps and anything available to them to get the kids on campus and to establish a relationship with them....

Lol let me tell you what he really said... "Nah man I ain't sitting behind Brad Kaaya just to play 1 year."

He might have never gotten to start once Jack and Todd came in 2016 & 2017. I liked his game and felt he brought a new dimension to the table that Kaaya and Alison does not have (mobility). Would have been good to have him as a back-up and special packages especially in 2015 when we are so thin at QB. He has a much better chance of starting at V-Tech with or without favoritism.
