Good article on our situation

Al Golden’s tenure has seen great progress — on offense. The offense has improved from 38th in 2010 to 6th this year. For those questioning the accuracy of that stat, this is precisely why I have been screaming about the pace of play all year. When they have the ball, they do an overall great job. They just don’t get it enough. This is also why a defense not forcing three-and-outs becomes a major issue, even if the opponent doesn’t score.

On the other hand, the defense was ranked 13th in 2010, and is now 84th (after finishing 88th last year). The net result? The combined efficiency of the team (which also accounts for special teams) has gone from 23rd in 2010 to 29th now. It has essentially flatlined.

lol **** I said something like this 2 weeks ago when a couple of clueless individuals were acting like I was making **** up

If we win out (including the bowl game) and finish 11-2, no way there will be changes made on defense even if they are needed. It will be seen as progress because we jumped 50+ spots from where we were the year before. The problem is I don't ever see this defense being elite. We are going to have to outscore some of the elite teams we play if Coach D remains the DC.

Miami has to lean on the entire offense to beat WF at the last minute.... Miami will never beat an elite team under this defensive scheme. The offense wont have the ball enough times to put up the 50 points needed to win against the elite teams.

Wake put up more points against us than any other opponent of theirs this year and have only scored a total of 3 points in the two weeks since. But our offense is the problem. Smh
