King and Moore don't seem to be cutting mustard so that's why Stuckey and Wyche are coming in.
It may turn out that both King and Moore are just JAGs, but one or both could also turn out to be good players. The fact that we're bringing in Stuckey and Wyche may speak to the coaches wanting to hedge our depth given the recent misses at the DT spot in recruiting, more than it speaks to their lack of confidence in the development of King and Moore.
You're right; it can be either one. DT is a very difficult position to transition to from HS to college so it's not surprise they struggled as true freshmen. They needed to be red shirted (I'm pretty sure Moore has played, no?). We should start to get a good idea if they're any good this spring. If they can't crack the 2 deep after the spring, ....
Moore has definitely played. Not sure King has. Both definitely "should" have been shirted but we were desperate last year.
One thing I distinctly remember in the spring, before we had brought in the waiver-wire DL transfers, was the coaches commenting on how much King had improved, so that was at least a little encouraging.
If one of those guys is ready to play next season, I think we'll wind up in good shape...especially if Moore can be the nose. Even if they're not though I trust the staff to find a solution. A lot of people back in January/February thought we we'd be ****ed but they found a way.
