Good stuff...

Talking up the freshmen
Says Tracy Howard could start at corner this week. He's been coming on strong and giving Gunter a run for the spot.
Says by the time Rashawn Jenkins finishes his career he would be around 218 pounds
Says Bush and Jenkins could see time on the field together this week.
Says he thinks by next year Wr's are going to fear going over the middle and seeing Bush and Jenkins.

This has been a very interesting interview. Golden is as positive as he's ever been. He keeps saying "I can't wait until we add 15 kids to this team." That sounds like the number. There are going to be some people left out.

Golden keeps making a point that I've been harping on: whether it's the early 1980s or the mid-1990s, probation has predated our greatest success.

I've been wanting to see Jenkins and Bush on the field at the same time for a while now.

Golden is understanding the kind of talent he can get at Miami. This guy is starting to get excited. He's just waiting out the **** storm to pass while he quietly puts together the pieces.

He's basically pinned down at his position. He's loading up his weapons and gathering troops, getting backup. He's chilling out while he takes fire, and the minute it lets up, he's standing up with his crew and unloading a hellacious firestorm of death onto everything in his path, leaving behind scorched Earth, body parts, and a few smoldering documents that say something about sanctions.

Guys say it, but I really believe he loves this place and wouldn't budge for any offer. He's sitting in a terrible conference with a glutenous amount of talent within a 30 minute radius of his office. Al Golden loves the history at Miami. He has the attitude of a true Cane. And I won't be surprised if he drops the double middle finger after hoisting the crystal ball.

Hopefully some of the young guys develop into solid players on the dline...its imperative. Agreed on the safeties. Great secondary and dline play is what wins championships...usually.

Honestly, I know we'll have limited ships, but leaving out top notch talent is not a good idea IMO. Just hate to do it

I think Jimmy Johnson and Schnellenberger probly, have had an influence about how special this place is and the opportunity here. He's definitely dialed in and not a quitter.

I believe he is very close to Jimmy and idolizes him in a way. He is very intrigued and respectful of the history of this program. It resonates with him. He wants to be the head coach of a team that is fast, bold, and kicks the **** out of people while talking **** the entire time. I really think he is a huge fan of the famous Canes teams and he wants a few of his own.

man i cant see us signing less than 16 and really it needs to be 18.

QB K.Olsen
RB Collins or D.Green (hopefully - if not still need a RB
WR Angelo Jean-Louis
TE Standish Dobard
TE Travis Johnson
TE/OL Jeremy Kerr
OL Denver Kirkland
OL Alex Gall
DE Tim Williams
DT Juco dude...hopefully L.Hooks
DT Keith Bryant
DT Jaynard Bostwick
LB Matthew Thomas
LB Jermaine Grace
CB/S Artie Burns
S Jamal Carter
S/RB Ray Lewis III

thats 17 right there and it seems we're looking at JuCo TE's as well... I know he keeps saying 15/16, but I would surprised if it wasnt 17-19. Maybe he's just being politically correct since technically we only have space for 15 next year assuming every single underclassmen returns (not happening) and to apply pressure to kids to jump on board before the boat's full. I know he says he's accounting for scholarship reductions, but even with that we usually have 6-8 underclassmen leave the program early via draft/transfer/medical hardships, so we could still sign more than 15 or 16 and be under 85 on the roster for next season

Were we on probation prior to our great run from 83-92 when we won 4 out of our 5 NCs?We went on probation in the mid 90s and won 1 NC in 2001.

I would be willing to bet his wife and kids love it down there too. If the wife isn't happy, nobody is happy, lol. I'd imagine they live in a great area.

Sounds like ole #8 the Duke. It starts with one, pretty soon the whole effin team will have this attitude.

And it's a matter of running a focused, lean operation. When this program has struggled, it's been due to sloppiness and excess - on and off the field.

I was skeptical that he would let the goons loose at first, but now I believe he was/is waiting for the right time to let them go all out.

Yes, we were banned from post season play in '81 or '82 IIRC. Not remembering for what exactly though.
