For those of you who have ****ed or mocked this because "we should just give the money directly to the program and see what they can do with it," I respectfully disagree.
This will be less than $1000. Lots of people will presumably take pictures, tweet and blast this all over the social media. Who knows: maybe it even gets a small blurb in the Herald if someone has a contact there (or one of Manny's tweets). It shows the difference between a fan base that once flew banners to fire coaches and now is flying a banner to support and express gratitude. If a small blurb or story comes of that, it does more for recruiting and culture than sending ~$400 as a group.
