Glaring issue on defense

Can’t believe they are expecting us to not let Cal, GTech, L’Ville and Duke, VTech look like 2019 LSU. So delusional. He needs another 5 years to have a somewhat decent defense

No it's not. In fact, your response is even lazier than the one I responded to. Fixing issues on a college football team is a lot more difficult than "address it in the offseason", which is the typical solution posed around here. Every team in America has weaknesses. Every one. But we're not supposed to have any because of our coach's salary?

There is having issues and there is what’s we is going on with this defense. It should not be this big of a weakness in year 3. All this “it’s not that easy give him more time” is really soft and lazy.

What are you trying to say? Louisville has a good offense. The others did not look like 2019 LSU, but nice hyperbole. My comments were about expectations from some in our fan base who can’t accept anything less than 2001. We are 9-1 and a couple wins away from playoffs. We are far from perfect. However, so is everyone else. Fans that assume every portal entrant and every highly rated recruit should sign with us are being silly.

I didn't say "give him more time". Please only respond to what I write, k? Kirby Smart is in year nine and his team has issues. More time isn't an excuse or a solution. Putting a college football roster together isn't just going out and getting the people you need. There are 50 teams in play for any given kid.

Again, no one in college football fixed their issues in the offseason. Not one.

Harvey and Hunte wouldn't have started over here, so they both made the right move. Corey Flagg was a miss on the coaching staff

Agreed. And probably like Colbie we have so much NIL to go around so you can’t just keep everyone with us wanting to revamp our DL

Unfortunately it’s not panning out like we hoped but Barrow has been top notch

Kaleb Spencer LB- looks like a promising LB for VT

Corey Flagg LB - often mocked for his speed, but one thing you can’t deny is that he is a smart LB. His instincts helped make up for his lack of speed. Took good angles. He was a guy you could tell loved UM but he was given a pink slip. Now playing LB at a SEC school. Think it would help to have a smart LB who can make sure everyone is in the right place?

Jared Harrison Hunte DL- swapped a solid DT/DE for the Baron of Facemask Penalties

While none of these guys are game changers, they are players who were on the roster but have since transferred to other teams and are playing well.

Ole Miss is 82nd in the country in passing defense, so "aggressively fixed it" is a pretty big stretch.
