Getting a 4th Star On 247....

Doesn't apply to Miami teams. Too many great 3* in sfla.
Who are our best players right now?

QB-Everybody wants Perry or Williams (4 stars) over Rosier (3 star)
RB-Homer was a top 10 back in his class and Lingard has all the hype (5 star), Deejay was also a 4-star. Meanwhile Choc and Burns are bringing up the rear (3 stars)
WR-AR and JT4 both 4 stars leading the pack.
TE-Brevin and Mallory have already passed Irving Jr and Polendy on the depth chart and they haven't even stepped on campus yet. A couple of top 7 TEs last class
OL-Donaldson is our best run blocker and was the highest rated OL we have
DE-Joe Jack and Garvin both 4 star phenoms.
DT-Willis has been our most disruptive DT since he's been on campus based on reports and was a borderline 5 star I believe. We're counting on Nesta to step up this year as well (#2 DT in the nation last year)
LB-Shaq was a top 5 ILB in the country. Pinck was underrated as a high three star
CB-Jackson was a 3 star. Bandy was a 4-star. Ivey and Frierson both ended up getting their 4th stars.
Safety-Quan was a solid 4 star.

Nope we broke this down several times last cycles , majority of our guys dropped each update if a guy or 2 got a bump.

This is a false persecution complex. Ratings move around a bit but as far as losing a star? More people gained last cycle than lost. Nesta committed as a 85 on the composite ended up a 96. Scaife, Ivey got additional stars.

Ofcourse, Hightower and Frierson and Hall lost some points, but didn’t dip a star. And if you’re going to use some drops in composite to prove a conspiracy it’s lazy.

The previous cycle had Garvin get a bump to four stars and Harley get a bump late when his flip was imminent.

You can’t prove a constant conspiracy outside of anecdotal evidence so just follow recruiting objectively and hold the coaches accountable to getting more blue chip prospects if that’s the issue.

Sure a few did, but the majority got dropped. If you don't think rankings aren't slanted towards the schools with the largest fanbases, I'm not sure what to tell you. Our guys the got bumps had to absolutely ball out. Meanwhile Ohio St can take some unknown 3* and he'll be in the top 250 2 weeks later.

I agree rankings, in general, matter and correlate well. But they're not perfect. How a freak like Greg Rousseau, for example, could be a 3* despite having a huge Senior year is just a joke.

Literally nobody ever said it was perfect and exceptions do not exist. In general they predict success, so we should accept that as a general rule. Also there is no proof of your conspiracy.

If Brooks is in fact 100% then it's a no brainer that he gets that 4th star but he needs to show it on the field first.

As far as the rest are concerned, I think Cam Williams is a good bet with Crowley also being in the mix. The rest I don't know enough about to make a call either way.

I watched him play on TV he is a complete monster. Don't see nobody being much better than him when healthy

Stars don't matter at Miami. Never has, never will.
Just look at last year's D ffs.

Mcintosh (700th best player lol)
Norton
Demetrius Jackson
Pinckney
McCloud
Derrick Smith
Mike Jackson
Malek Young
Dee Delaney
Redwine

Most of our best players were 3 stars. The only top 100 kid we used was Chad Thomas. Even our 4 stars like Bandy, Carter, Garvin, Toolbox Trent, and Jaquan Johnson were barely 4 stars, nowhere near the top 100.

Like i said, Miami has NEVER needed stars to dominate. Never have, never will.

I wouldn't say last year's defense was dominating. And, I think recruiting services are different now than they were in the early 2000s so stars hold more merit because more research is done in distributing them. The U will need stars to dominate in the future.
