Many in here were hoping Restrepo left last year calling him a YAG and a product of being VD’s roommate. Some times it takes kids a little longer to acclimate and learn how to work. I expect Horton and Brown to be back and be studs next year with the addition of young talent and portal.
Brown gone

Curious why Miami did so bad in DT recruiting this cycle? Definitely worrisome.

Oh I agree, Texas and Cali recruiting has been dry as **** for past 20 years. Sad
I feel this is a down year in the trenches nationally. I really don't see a ton of day 1 can't miss type guys in the trenches and at many other positions too. As far as Cali recruiting goes, being it's so far away kinda hard to expect more than a couple kids per cycle tops to come here.

Alabama and TAMU have 7 out of the top 10 players committed out of California this year

It is surprising we haven’t signed many out of Cali since Mario owned Cali when he was at Oregon

Can we see who we sign before we are worried? People freaked out last year also. The only thing I have concern for is who plays QB next year. Is Emory Williams really the guy? Is it gonna be a portal guy? And I believe I read someone saying it would be nice to not have a drop when Ward leaves? Um Cam Wards don’t exactly exist everywhere lol. So of course it will be a drop. The hope is the overall talent around that QB will be elevated so his job is easier.

Texas is way closer than Florida. And Bama has 6 or so recent natty's we don't have. My realistic hope is just a couple Cali kids yearly at most.

An extra 2 hours on a flight to Dallas vs Miami is negligible , 3 hour flight vs 5

Miami owns Bishop Gorman, distance isn’t a factor, we just have to do a better job of recruiting Cali. Mario owned it while at Oregon, so he’s already got inroads there, which is surprising

Those 2 DTs from Michigan were middle of the pack 4 star guys out of high school, now their projected 1st round picks this year

27th rated DT now projected as #1 DT in draft

Yes I remember. How could anyone forget? You gotta try to be that bad.
I watched the Tennessee-Florida game and UT's qb was missing throw after throw. It seemed like he only completed a couple passes all night. I looked at the box score and he was somehow 16-26. As bad as he was, he wasn't in the stratosphere of Kirby Freeman bad. It's really unfathomable how a qb can go 1-14 with 3 ints. And the 2007 FSU game that everyone crowns him for winning, he was really the reason we almost lost. He was 4-11 with 2 ints.

Yeah but those are developmental guys and most of the board is underwhelmed by our current class. My point is most of the country's 2024 class is skewed more to the developmental variety this year.
