Georgia Tech Post Game Plus/Minus

Pluses:

James Coley is an upgrade over Fish. Much better playcaller. Sets stuff up better and the offense doesn't disappear for huge portions of games even with a one-legged QB....
Last year it was pretty evident Fisch was auditioning for some kind of promotion, be it HC at some place else or in the NFL. It's the only way to rationalize all of his cutesy play calls and formations. Coley is still getting the hang of things. I'm interested to see how much he grows this season from the Florida game to the FSU & VT games in November.

The announcers were killing me with the " Miami must make them lose yards on first down " talk, kept saying it and it never made sense.

+ Coach D and Rayshawn Jenkins...both knew exactly what play was coming and RJ made the pick. Shows great in-week film study.

+ Hagens getting the ball

Big fella looks good with the football in his hands. He's got moves like Re-Run from "What's Happening?". Don't expect a fire hydrant like that to be so smooth. I think he earned more touches with today's work.

Apparently Andre Johnson switched bodies with Allen Hurns today, that was pretty sweet.

+ nobody on defense got injured by one of their bull**** cut blocks.

I kept my fingers crossed that Porter and Perryman would make it out injury free.

Did you see that f.aggot dive at Lu Robinson's knee late in the game as Lu was chasing the QB? Glad Lu saw it at the last second and kind of dodged the bullet, but that was a close call.

I saw that. That could've been real bad.

**** those ankle biters.

Was not the cleanest game (4 turnovers) but it was great to continue our success against GT and remain undefeated.

+
1. Offense played well, good playing calling (cleaned up the redzone stuff) and put up a bunch of points.

2. Defense adjusted well and made big plays when it mattered. That pick six was pretty cool (when was the last one of those?) and that McCord hit was excellent. DP was making a bunch of plays too.

3. I love Hagens, he played really well all game. Duke bounced back after the fumble and almost had 200 rushing yards, not bad.

4. Morris has a bunch of time to get healthy, you can tell that he is is not super confident on that leg. If he was healthy, he would have avoided being sacked on that Linder mishap. He could have stepped into the pocket and made the throw. It was great to see him throw 77% for comps.

1. 4 Turnovers, that was pretty bad. 2 of them were really avoidable (Dorsett and Duke), especially coming off big plays.

2. Sometimes a good run is enough, Duke needs to be happy just getting the first down and tuck the ball in tight. This is why he fumbled twice against USF and against GT. He tries to do too much some times.

+Coach D on Jenkins' pick. He switched to a 3-4 after running a 4-3 the entire game. It worked.

Perryman against BC last year. Last time a DB did was Armstrong against FAMU in 2010. Last time a corner did it...I could be wrong but I think it was Rolle against Louisiana Tech in 2003.
