Stockton almost looked like the equivalent of Emory. So of course they wanted Beck back.

The article is interesting regarding UGA recruiting as a whole. They have had top 3 classes for several years. Yet they can’t seem to sign quality receivers or QB’s. We all know Bennett was a walk on. Then you have Beck. But outside of that, QB recruiting has been putrid since they signed Fields, who never really played there. He got out of there as quick as he could. So there are chinks in the UGA armor.

Oh I agree… and not just from a historical point either. Since I’ve gotten on the other side of 40 I’ve come to find it’s pretty common place for men of means to make high dollar business decisions based upon how the chick “they dip their stick” in feels.

If I recall correctly I believe Mark Richt said he interviewed and was offered the HC job at Pitt while he was the OC at FSU. Talked to his wife about it and she didn’t want to live in Pittsburgh so he turned it down. While not in athletics I know a couple of guys who turned down high paying C-Suite roles because their wives didn’t want to live in a particular city… one of the wives didn’t even work . Some folks are just wired differently
