I think that number is a little low, I would say 7 - 7.5. I just don't think we are at their level yet, give it a a year or two and we will be. We need to build quality depth.

Last year they ranked behind all those teams in rushing. They lost their workhorse SR RB and some OL.
Miami played without one of their best DT's in all those games you mentioned. This year Porter plays.
This plus the DL gaining 15+ pounds in the offseason and having an extra year experience should mean something. Or do you expect players to not to develop year over year?

So essentially what you're telling me here is that Porter is going to play this season and this game. Even though history tells is otherwise.

So they'll get better just because; OK. You got me sir. There is no way to argue with this logic here.

But before I bow out of this thread defeated, I'll just say this:

- UF has recruited much better than Miami the last couple of years. The replacements for Gilleslie and the OL are physically mature players who have at least 2 years in their program (this will be their third year).

- Miami, on the other hand, trots out Pierre (who is very good) and Mr. Glass. All of the other JAGS at DT play on skates so even IF the 'Turds had a disadvantage on the OL or the running game...Miami isn't equipped to expose it.

- Which DL has gained +15lbs?

- I don't expect players to remain the same, especially young ones. What I'm trying to point out is that expecting a massive jump from jag to contributor as a Sophmore doesn't happen often; especially at that position. Go look at the roster again.

Players don't make massive jumps over the course of one summer. These kids are in the right track but they are not physically ready yet. They'll be there next year which is when the defense as a whole will take a big jump up.
