Those idiots have NEVER in their history produced an NFL caliber qb. Asking a Gator fans opinion about elite qb play is like asking Napoleon Dynamite advice on how to get laid.

Exactly, could one of you guys or gals on the board explain how UF is ranked overall 10th with the their Transfer Portal class ranked at 77th.

I pointed this out to Gator fans and Miami slurpers wanting Lagway. Lagway passed for 9 TDs and 9 INTs against non-FCS schools.

All this false hype on Lagway. He may turn into a "Dude" by the time his college career is over, but he was just a subpar QB statistically.

To the Gstors credit, the rebounded and got better in many areas. Lagway wasn't the reason despite what Gator fans think. I thought he was subpar in their biwl game with 2 INTs that could have been 3. A good team would have made them pay for those turnovers.

Here is the level of crazy with Gator fans.

This is the "bad" quarterback, the one who beat them twice, the guy who went 24-3 as a starter over 2 years:

Here's the reality. Lagway has talent. With a bunch of new WRs, he might be better in 2025. But that doesn't diminish the fact that Carson Beck has been playing (and beating) tough SEC defenses for two years. The Gator fans are acting as if Beck can't beat them for the third year in a row. Wild times, man.

So let's get some things out of the way.

1. Carson Beck did NOT have the full Tommy John surgery. He had the less invasive, less drastic "brace" surgery. All of the Gator/SemenHole "he won't be throwing until June/July" nonsense needs to stop. Nobody can fully predict a surgical recovery timeframe, but he is EXPECTED to be throwing by late March.

2. Our rivals (particularly Gators/SemenHoles) have NO IDEA what we will do with WRs in Portal recruiting. Looking at Miami's roster on 1/11/2025 is just wishful thinking on their parts.

3. We are not done on defense. Between the new defensive staff and personnel, our rivals had better not be counting on what they scouted on us from 2024. I'm not saying we will be #1 in the country or anything like that, but our personnel and tendencies will be very different in 2025.

You can measure how scared the Gators/SemenHoles are by how much effort they invest into pre-trashing Miami. Meanwhile, Carson Beck is undefeated against UF/F$U. So...good luck, mouth-breathers.
 
I know quarterbacks get too much credit for wins and too much blame for losses but they didn’t win games last year because they switched from Mertz to Fatway. Their offense didn’t get better. They were statistically below average even after the switch. Their defense is what carried them. The defense that’s returning like 3 starters next year because they all hit the portal. So if UFailure really wants to improve next season they better pray that either: their offense makes a HUGE jump in productivity because 26 points per game isn’t going to win you **** in 2025. Or, their new defenders, who were just backups last year (they didn’t sign anyone of note in the portal) magically get better than the guys they backed up last year. They need a LOT of defensive guys to make the jump from JAG to star in order to remain competitive.
