Lot's of hatred in this thread and it's well deserved, but you're kidding yourself if you think Chip isn't a good hire for them. If you thought his offenses were potent at Oregon, imagine what he will do with FL athletes. His defenses are dog ****, but no one will be able to score with him in the SEC East, which is a giant train wreck. Great hire for them. Can't wait to beat the **** out of him in 2019 if it happens.

Chip Kelly's Offense was absolutely manhandled by Auburn. Chip Kelly's offense was manhandled by Stanford. I can see him and the ole ball coach getting into a ton of heated arguments. Chip is not a recruiter, like at all. His ego is just as big, if not bigger than Harbaugh's.

I hadn't even thought of him getting into it with spurrier. Great point. No way they get along.

Hesagood hire but coaches that can only do one thing well never win titles. He will bring them offense but whwn playoff time comes or bama comes by those defenses will kill there offense. Its a good hire for them though

My boy is a season ticket holder for the 9ers and he said Kelly was a weird dude. Didn't want to come to any fan events, and he heard that he and York got in to it often. The same happened in Philly. He's a cancer....a perfect fit for him is UF.

Also, UF is going with Kelly because they don't want to deal with a particular agent anymore. LOL

They don't want to deal with Sexton anymore because they are burned bridges trying to get out of paying McElwain buyout. Expect lawsuits to come out of that.

I hope Sexton never brings them a client in the future.

He delivered Will Muschamp and Jim McElwain to UF. I want him to keep on delivering.

lol, If he bring them those type of candidates then yes I hope he continues.

But he has a deep list of coaches as clients and they will be affected in future coaching searches if they decide not to pay McElwain his full buyout.

Wow.. That's terrible. It's great for us & perfect for them. Spurrier isn't exactly known for being humble. No way they can coexist. I wonder if they'll have spurrier doing most of the fan events & fund raising.

Any idea what excuse Chip Kelly will use in a couple years to get the **** out of there?

His privilege will give him another shot at the NFL if he's even moderately successful at UF (assuming he gets the gig).

Dude hates College. Just like Harbaugh's go hard for that Bears job this offseason (if they don't try to poach Gase from the Fins), any College job Chip takes will just be a warm up for his next preferred NFL job.

I would MUCH rather they get Frost than Kelly. The guy went 46-7 at Oregon. They will have to pony up some major dollars to get him and hopefully they fail.

The NY Giants are also interested in Kelly. It is well known Kelly would rather coach in the NFL.

I hope he is using Florida to leverage money from an NFL team. There should be anywhere from 3-6 NFL openings.

Wouldn't be surprising. McAdoo is all but gone in the NFL.

I've never believed that Chip Kelly would go back to college football. He hates recruiting, and he needs it to win; especially at a school like UF where they're surrounded by schools that recruit from the deepest talent pool in the country (South Eastern region, not just South Florida).

If they were looking at Kelly as an OC I'd be worried, but head coach? Not so much. Head coaches need to be motivators, guys with charisma...you can hire people for the rest. satan's a *****, but he's got something that makes kids want to play for him. My understanding is that Kelly isn't so much with the personality, and I can't imagine him doing well with the boosters. I feel like OR didn't have the kind of oldschool entrenched boosters that uf has and I don't think they'll do well with a coach who doesn't want to schmooze with them.
