Tears Gator Tears

They got Waller too I just saw. That’s another 5 star. They’ve got the number 3 class right now. I still think the season matters for us and them as to where we end up but we’re going to have to wait and see at this point. Billy couldn’t do **** before so I guess their NIL issues have been fixed.
He’s a 247 5 star, he’s #71 in the composite so a bit off of 5 star range.

They have the 4th highest average recruit ranking. You’re a pretty smart dude, so I’m not sure what this post is even about. Unless this is a thread where you just make things up that aren’t remotely true just to **** on them no matter what they do, and I’m not in on the joke? If so, shame on me.

I thought it was a thread to celebrate and toast to and drink gator tears, of which there are MANY right now and have been for years. But their recruiting class right now, yeah….that ain’t one of em. Let’s just keep it 100 in here and not be gator fans. Leave the delusion for those sheep****ers. Keep it a buck, what they’re doing RIGHT NOW is solid and if it were happening here, we’d all be thrilled. But you are right about 1 thing, until pen meets paper, this doesn’t mean everything. However I think that goes without saying and applies for every class in the country.

Think it through. Their fourth highest average recruit ranking is compared to what everyone else is doing right now. With many, if not most highly ranked recruits not even committed yet. Not only that, but they’re going to be signing people that are going to bring their average down. If they’re going to have a full class.

That’s why some schools like Alabama are somewhere in the 50s I believe.

Is the class as constituted right now good, even with their limited number of recruits. Yes. But the relative ranking right now is irrelevant - it only becomes relevant when all the commitments have been made prior to signing days, and then obviously it becomes most relevant when both signing periods are over.

Look, I'm not one to crap on the players themselves, particularly when it looks like Boireau is a UM legacy (and I don't know if there is family drama, so I won't comment).

But your statements on both Boireau and Mascoll are typical of what Gaytor fans always say. Because FIRST it's "we have a superior star-average", then when you take 0-star and 3-star guys, it becomes all about "offer list".

And I'm also not one to **** on "offer list", but you are MAKING UP the stuff about "committable offers" (or else repeating what someone else said). I look at multiple factors that will COMBINE the offer list with the recruiting effort. We can all debate whether an offer is "committable" but if the school that made the "committable offer" is not pursuing the recruit very hard, then it really doesn't matter.

So go back in this thread to my posting on Sunday, where I analyze the UF recruits AT THE TIME (pre-Boireau, pre-Mascoll). The issue is not whether your recruits have offers or not, but the fact that they are NOT ACTUALLY BEING RECRUITED AS HARD. That's just an undeniable fact. And you can say that they are all "loyal to Slingblade Billy and his G5 Staph", but the reality is that if they are impressed by Dave & Busters and the Cade Museum and dinner in a gymnasium WITHOUT ANY BASIS FOR COMPARISON, then, sure, they are going to think that Hogtown is the greatest visit ever.

And please don't attempt any witty comebacks with me. I am an alumnus of both UM and UF. I've lived in Gainesville. My sister is also an alum. My niece is there now. Don't try to tell me that I don't know about all the hidden charms of Hogtown.

Just keep paying all your recruits not to take their five official visits. Because if they ever figure out that there are OTHER staffs that are genuine, if they ever figure out that there are better things to do with their time than tour the Gaytorade Labs and the Hotel Aleo, then they will actually have to make a COMPLEX decision to weigh the pros and cons against Slingblade and Hogtown.

You can almost read this to the beat of "hit 'em up."

Jamonta Waller is 2024. Also 60 of the top 100 kids on 247 have committed to a school.

100% correct on everything else. They won’t stick. Some of big dogs haven’t gotten going yet (Bama, A&M, USC to an extent, Texas, etc.). It’s desperation.

The only thing better than UF having a terrible recruiting class is for them to blow money on verbals, go under .500,
get raided by stable programs and still have a terrible recruiting class.
Were another big dog that hasn't gotten going yet

They don’t and won’t give us credit which is a reason why things will be entertaining when we start landing our top guys. They’ve already said Ruiz is broke and going to jail so what’s next???
It's just hilarious watching their fanbase's constant need to validate their team. Actually wasting time and energy researching and debating on whether a 3-star OT was dropped by another school. Living and dying with every movement up or down the recruiting rankings. After a 3-star OL commit, their fans literally asking each other, "Where are we ranked now?"

Now, they're looking over their shoulder worried about UM having a top 10 to top 5 class. We play them in the next two years, but you'd think they'd be more worried about the schools in their division.

They are set up for a massive implosion. After a 4-8 or 5-7 season. They'll likely lose some of their recruits. They can't recruit OL. They're going to get crushed in the trenches. The coup de gras will be when Lagway decommits. I don't think he sticks when he realizes they won't have anyone good to block for him and they're having a tough time recruiting WRs despite having a 5-star QB committed.

Just glorious!!!!!

Dont even know who tf that kid at Lb they got. Hes big (pause) but can he move at that size, or is this a Golden special where he cant move but has a 4 star ranking anyway. Someone give me the scoop. Every class has a bunch of four stars at every position you dont really expect anything from but depth. I hope he aint leading their linebacker class but I'll wait till the film gurus tell me about this dude. It seems more like damage control to me this used to be us all the time.

Georgia has taken your lunch money whenever they’ve wanted too. He may have had a commitable offer but he may have been down on their boards also. They may have told him to hold off and he didn’t want too hence why he committed to you.

Congrats tho has Billy found the magic formula? Has your collective started to actually come through on promises?
i actually think thats former cane Michael Boireau's son.

If Mario was to get involved......lol

I know he’s listed as an edge. I don’t know how that translates with their defense. Are they still running a 3-4?

Look, let's make this simple.

Is Slingblade Billy sitting on a very nice HALF class right now? Yes.

But we have to stop our bickering and focus on what is really happening. Which I already posted about.

All of Slingblade's success, THUS FAR, comes from players who have barely taken any other official visits. AND IN CONTRAST, Mario is holding off on taking verbals UNTIL most of these recruits have taken OVs (I realize that's not the case with guys whose commitments we took a few months ago).

Now, we can debate the relative merits of each approach. But the fact remains...Mario knows how easy it is for excitable 17 year olds to "commit" to a school, only to have nearly-immediate second thoughts. Like a certain UM OL recruit whose name rhymes with "Spazz".

And while we can ony imagine how many schools will start scavenging the UiF commit list once the losses pile up, but we do NOT have to imagine how easy it is to host a superior official visit that does not involve Dave & Busters or Hotel Aleo.

So Imma let Slingblade Billy have his moment of false overconfidence. I don't care. And I'm not saying that all of these kids will bail. But with unlimited OVs and unlimited Gaytor losses on the field, I strongly suspect that several of these verbals will bounce like a rubber check.

Yeah, their pictures are nearly identical looking, as are their names. And they are both sizable DTs. But the constant non-mention of his dad seems to mean that there might be some family separation drama out there.

The only positive from Manny’s tenure is his recruiting bake-off comment. Winning in summer is a risky game. Much like the situation we are in UF has to win or holding those guys will be difficult.

What if Auburn wins 8 or 9 games and circles back on some guys, or Kirby gets another hard on for flipping their commits? It’s difficult tight rope to walk.

Im not worried about UF, if they do not fix that OL, they will be like some of those teams we had towards the end of our run. Really good defense that got worn down with no offense.

They on a good run tho. Certainly recruiting better than under Mullen. Still confident we are gonna finish above them in recruiting. Both in total points and average points. Never get too high or too low. In these things especially in the summer. Mario proved he can hold a class together during a terrible season. Can Napier?
The real question is…can Napier (or any coach) do so in their second year? It’s a different question than a bad season in year one.

I distinctly remember FSU pounding their chests about having a #1 (at the time) class in the middle of summer only to see them eventually finish like 23rd after signing day. It's great to get commitments early but as survivors of the Al Golden years, we know as well as anyone that the only commitments that count are the ones on signing day.
