Haven’t been in years but it was the **** when I was young. I went back to the one on university before it closed and it sucked donkey balls
that 1 is TRASH! i love a good pizza so i tried most of them up there. i originally tried that 1 bc it was close to campus n it's crappy overpirced version of a NYC slice. i found the 1 on millhopper by accident but it was (and still is) amazing. we have a relative up there in school n he brings me 2 dozen garlic bread every time he comes to visit.

Satchels is the most over rated establishment in Gainesville. I like to try small , mom and pops pizza places in the area and I hit that dump up. Spent 28 bucks on the most mediocre pizza ever. I’d rather had a 5 star pizza and for 11 bucks. That’s coming from a guy who doesn’t buy chain pizza.

Btw nothing personal with the bird emoji. It’s just business.

five star makes you sick bro. I do love pokey sticks for the greasy nonsense those things are. I didn't find any other good pizza near there outside of Leonardos and that was okay. Italian gator was drunk food. the rest of the pizza is trash.

I don’t like it , I was just saying I’d rather have that than Satchels. Piesanos is good but the sauce is meh. You can tell it’s good ingredients but the sauce keeps it from being really good. Main Street pie company in Alachua is the best. It’s worth the 20 minute drive.

piesanos best thing were the free knots they used to serve (haven't been there in 10 years so idk if its still around)

ill check out main street next time I do a drive to Atlanta

satchels salad is actually my favorite thing they serve.

I was only joking. I never been there, but looks like from the map and names they are all part of like UFs "food court" type thing. Like how we have Wendys at our food court near the rat.

I just found it hilarious that they have 3 of them right next to each other. I would love to know what moron set that up. At least at Miami it would take you a while to get from wendys on campus to the wendys near Red Rd. This is like Wendys putting one in the food court, one in hecht and one next to the frost school of music.
I would have loved having a Wendys at Hecht residential. That would have saved me a lot of time waiting in line at that solitary Taco Bell that was open all night in the 90s. The food would hopefully have been less toxic as well.

Really? I liked Leonardo's 706 back in the 1990s, though it was definitely in an older building. Food was great when I went.

IDK if they had it when you were at school, but we had a wendys on campus in the food court near the RAT. Kind of by the library. It would take you literally 5 minutes to walk their from Hecht. it did close really early though I think around 7.

I think that opened in the fall of 94...right after Ongraduated. For me, fast food options on campus consisted of the horrible Eye restaurant by the pool. Burgers were like (bad) beef jerky, and my girlfriend at the time (now wife) found a body hair in her salad.

We had some good options when I was there. The food court had a lot of good places like the wendys. Then we had some chipotle type place that was good. Decent bagel place, considering it was florida. Some fast food type places like panda express. Some sushi place. etc. Subway that was open "late". Then across from campuss we had chicken chop and dennys and fridays and papa johns. There was a pizza place, that I never went to since I can't stomach florida pizza, but a lot of kids went there. I generally ate at the hecht dining hall though.

satchels. if you ever make a drive through the state stop by. its pretty good for a state that has not very good pizza.

Gainesville does the local mom and pops pretty well. a lot of that is going away though w the increase in the chains. there was a huge ordeal when they added Cheesecake Factory and pf Changs. Orlando is very chain heavy, miami is trendy and overrated for the most part, and Tampa is just there.
GTFOH with this BS. 😂 Dumpest post on the thread. Congratulations.

I think that I just missed that. In addition to the cafeterias and the accursed Eye, there was a better large restaurant called the Ibis that had much better food. However I don’t believe that it was on the meal plan. Loved the burritos they had there. I believe that restaurant became the food court with the Wendys, Pizza Hut, et al.
