Tears Gator Tears

I said it when they first hired him. He was an 8 win coach at MSU. That was good enough for their fan base. I figured the UF brand could bump him up a little but their fans weren't going to settle for 9-10 wins and second/third place finished in the SEC least.

with the leftover talent and sheer luck that trask is there, they ended up with 11 wins. Tennessee UGA out recruit them seemingly yearly now and when you mix in the unfortunate cross division matchups, it wont be good. at some point, you need the talent and depth.

Exactly. Their time to strike has been the last two seasons. The attrition will start to affect the on field product starting this season. The bottom line is, they are less talented and less deep now than when Mullett first took the job.

It’s amazing how all of a sudden he’s overrated and now that we beat out UGA for him, now they can simply jump in for the vaunted gaytor Flipz.

I was just about to post something about this, there's two dimensions to this.

1. Nearly every Gaytor fan refuses to acknowledge that, hey, maybe Miami is just recruiting incredibly well right now. Instead, everything that the Gaytor fans write about is an attempted diminishment of Miami or the player. "He's overrated" and "he doesn't want to compete" are the most common player digs, even when it is a player who had UiF in the Top Two/Top Three/Top Five. When diminishing Miami, it is attendance smack, facilities, Manny, 6-7, FIU/LaTech. Gaytors fans can't possibly admit that (apart from attendance smack), they have had the exact same issues. The Gaytors are trying to build new facilities themselves, they had Captain Insane-o and McSharkfvcker, they had TWO 4-win season, and they lost to Georgia Southern.

2. Nearly every Gaytor fan refuses to acknowledge that, hey, maybe Florida is just recruiting incredibly poorly right now. Even though SOME of their fans talk about Knox (and others) being poor recruiters, most of them somehow can't accept that. Instead, they build up their "advantages" (full on-campus stadium, "Gaytor brand", SEC-SEC-SEC, etc.) as some undeniable and unavoidable attributes that should land them a Top 5 class every year. At the same time, they ignore the very real issues they've had (criminal activity, transfers out, racist incidents in the SEC, etc.) that might give a recruit pause about spending 4 or 5 years in Hogtown. To top it all off, everything else is an excuse. COVID-19. Baba Yaga. Ridiculous theories about Mullet going to the NFL. It's endless.

And you know what? If the Gaytors ever hire a solid recruiting group (both coaches and staffers) and address most of UF's flaws and drawbacks, all of the "excuses" will just melt away.

I loved the one guy's comment bytching about Mullen's recruiting by saying their scheme relies on highly talented players. Most places call that bad coaching.

You just don't understand the calendar of their playbook.

On Monday-Wednesday-Friday, it's "Mullet is a great coach, he turns 3-stars into first-rounders".

On Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday, it's "Mullet needs more talented players to narrow the gap on Bama-UGa-LSU".

On Sunday, everything is Knox's fault.

Then that dumbass must've started writing that post on Monday and finished it on Sunday because he had it all in one post. Probably had to wait for someone to help him with the big words.

This has been a complaint from their fans since his first class. They brought up and continue to bring up that he has the gaytor brand but recruiting players he’d recruit at Miss St.

"James Williams and Avantae Williams are overrated they are NO Tre'Vez Johnson" just like on Aug 6th you will hear "we may have accepted Taylor's commitment but now we get who we really wanted in Savion Collins and Desmond Watson" That is if Watson doesnt pick TAMU then he was another fat overrated slob.
