I do not ******* understand the insanity, desperation, and pure ignorance of facts that allows a UF fan to say that UM's academics are "anemic" compared to UF.
UM has been ranked ahead of, equal to, or just behind UF in EVERY US News and World Report ranking for a decade. This is a known fact. It's not even disputed any longer as a "one-year aberration".
Furthermore, the commentary about HUGE auditorium classes and TV classes is 100% true. When I was in Gainesville in the 1990s for my one year (sentence), I could turn on the TV and there was a BUSINESS LAW class that was being broadcast on TV. The guy would punctuate his classes by dressing up in various costumes, and while it was mildly entertaining, I asked around and found out that the entire Business Law class could be taken ON TELEVISION because of overcrowding. I mean, think about this, that is a required course in Business School, and it was offered ON TELEVISION. I know there are plenty of UM B-School grads on here, so let's think about our LARGEST B-School classroom...60 students? 70 students? The stuff they put up with in Gainesville and call "good academics" is a joke.
"Anemic"...what an idiot. What is unforgivable is classes on cable television at the "best public school in Florida".

It's probably been asked/answered ad nauseum I just haven't seen it but...did Richt ever attempt to recruit fields or was he all in one Artur from the get go?
I believe Pete posted that Art was the guy that Richt thought the highest of...not sure if that included Fields.

I've asked the question multiple times, the last time directly to Pete. Pete never responded, only brock did, and brock just said Sitkowski is Richt's guy. I would think that we could be competitive for Fields if we made the effort but maybe the thought of Perry there ahead of him would push him away.

I would imagine going after him wouldn't sit well with the guy we already have. I think you only do that if you're really unhappy with Sits or really sure of Fields.
Also, I think it's funny the importance uf fans are putting on getting this kid. I agree that this is Toofer's put up-or-shut-up moment, but I don't see that getting fields leads to a great class. Obviously they need somebody of his caliber and getting him would help, but they need a whole recruiting class. They have nobody, and they think a QB is going to lead to LBs and DTs and all the other guys they need. Call me skeptical.
I guess a different way to ask since one with real knowledge seems to answer is did Fields ever show interest in UM? Did he ever mention UM?
Not sure the official, but the innaugual should suffice, fluid situation over time.
