Game 26: 3/26/25 Stetson

Who was Ron Fraser before he coached us?

You need a person who knows baseball. A good coach. They are out there and you don’t have to break the bank. A lot of people being mentioned were nothing before their current jobs.

Good points, but it's worth mentioning College Baseball during CRF's heyday from the late 1970's to the early '90's is nothing like today.

We're in an era where literally every SEC and ACC team in our region of the country is making a legit effort — certainly more than we are — to compete at the highest level.

Even if DanRad (or his successor) unearths a hidden gem, both UM and its boosters have to deliver the resources — including NIL or its future equivalent — for that coach to be successful.

Or else he'll be hired away by a school that is serious about baseball

Agree and I am assuming any coach who wants/is offered the job is going to make sure the resources are there before accepting. These schools (including Miami) have the $$.

What is the likelihood that JD will be the coach next season?

Not watching this program anymore until he’s gone-

I never thought this program would sink as badly as it has-

Incompetence all across the board-

Radocovich, get some balls!

Our fans need a splash of fresh, cold water in their face to wake them up. It bugs the **** outta me when we keep bringing up fossils from the past.

That’s not being disrespectful vs. highlighting how much college athletics has changed. Recruiting is no longer regional, it’s national. The days of being a hidden gem r over w/. Programs r ran from top to bottom better than some professional teams.

Miami can’t keep living in the past or what worked in the past. ALL of college athletics from football to gymnastics has changed, particularly w/ the advent of NIL. It’s a business. Miami football kept relying upon the old days, not paying attention to how football programs were evolving in nutrition, facilities, training, and monies spent. By the time we tried to catch up in 2015, we were 15 yrs behind & we’re still behind.

In baseball, programs like Wake, UVA, Vandy, Texas were becoming more aggressive in applying science to their programs’ pitching & hitting. The results speak for themselves over the past decade. We need someone who understands this, but we also need leadership change. Until Miami gets out of its own way by continuing to recycle through its rolodex for its next coaches, & that’s at EVERY level, then we’re going to continue to see mediocre results.

Everyone keeps pointing at Dan, but Dan didn’t hire DiMare, Dan didn’t hire Diaz, Dan didn’t hire Mario. I’ve been of the opinion since Blake that those behind the scenes r still pulling the strings. Until we have a true AD, & by AD I mean Athletic Dept, that’s ran like a business, I won’t hold my breath.

I remember Sankey saying he envisioned Bama being a premier athletic dept, not just known for football, but sports. Bama has a solid-elite basketball program, football program, baseball program, gymnastics, & now even track as they’ve recruited from Africa. Their brand value has generated a windfall of $$ for the entire school.

Sorry for the rant, but I may be one of the more passionate non alum Miami fans here. It’s absolutely frustrating seeing a school w/ this much history falter the way it does by bad decision after bad decision COLLECTIVELY across all spectrums of a University.

Welll said as usual

The massive decline of baseball is hard to stomach since it's always been my second-favorite program at UM

I became a fan of Big East basketball watching Sleepy Floyd at Georgetown and the Louie & Bowie Show at Syracuse way back in 1980 when Miami didn't even have a team (youngins ask your parents for the story). Still to this day love me some Big East hoops and roll with those schools in March Madness every year.

If the Canes end up in the Big Ten like many of us anticipate, you can close the door on ever again being a consistent national contender in baseball. It'll 100% be over

I know this is going to be unpopular but what’s wrong with hiring Joe Urso?? I mean do we really think this program is going to attract anything better?

I think people will be surprised at who will have interest in this job.
We will attract a lot of quality coaches... it's the AD and administration that I worry about..

Pretty sure we've been adding a lot of new technology for the baseball program over the last year.

I absolutely think we will attract a lot of attention from great candidates. This is a baseball blue blood we’re talking about.

Wonder if Gino would come back on an interim basis to finish out the season after the team stages a mutiny here pretty soon.
