Have to have a frank conversation with Walters about competing in the zone more.

That's too often he's afraid to throw his fastball in the zone in big spots hoping to get Chase. Teams don't chase and he falls apart.

It's about strike one and competing in the zone even if you give up a few solo HR's.

I know Walters wants to win more than I want him to win, so I think it has to be a bit of a mindset shift.

Arteaga and his rigid roles. This guy is my long reliever. This guy I don't use until the 8th.

There won't be a game to compete late if you bring in a guy with a nine ERA in a leverage spot.

We didn't have the arms. It wasn't a great play, but we were losing anyway.

overturning that safe call was bogus. at best it was a tie which is not clear proof to overturn. curses.

The majority of games we have lost have come like this: sticking to rigid roles and letting guys die out there. You cannot just give up on the game like that. Everytime we go flat and the game is immediately over as you give up 5+ instead of 3.
