And wasn’t bullpen supposed to be our strength?Last 3 series we given up 30, 25 and 30 runs. It’s beyond pathetic at this point.

Agree with you on Hugus and Sat/Sun. Robert is a reliever and so may be Brian Walters. One of those guys becomes your closer. Gonna have to take some lumps with the young arms but it’s happening all across college baseball where freshman are getting meaningful innings.Reboot the pitching staff after this weekend.
DeRias, Fernandez, Collera ,and Ciscar deserve more innings.
Move Hugus to Friday night, not sure about Saturday or Sunday?
Evans, Fischer and others can't be trusted in an ACC game.
Next week has to be 3-1.…...
Number 3. Started with Walters, JD left him in a couple batters too long, and then JD chose Fischer of all the bullpen options to pour gas on the situation. So I’ll be honest, after we went up 3-2, I had to jet for some errands. Came back & the score was 9-6 FSU, then I heard about FSU scoring 7 in one inning. My ? is two part:
1. Was Walters still in the game when the onslaught began?
2. Was this on the bullpen, & if so he generated the momentum?
3. Was this a combination of 1 & 2?

Absolutely. The bullpen was actually pretty decent tonight. The only other bullpen run was leaving Fernandez, who’d had a very positive outing, out there beyond 40 pitches.Oh, so this was on JD then.
I’ll counter and say with the onslaught starting with basehits and not walks it’s harder to stop it cause it happens faster. In other words it seemed like the bases were loaded in 30 seconds. Having said that I’m not sure what changes with a new coach. Yes he should’ve never been hired. But with say the bullpen, middle relief is the hardest area to recruit cause it’s the most needed and hard to carve out a role for. I personally think the baseball program is done without a vandy style endowment fund. Yes Miami has always been more expensive than in state schools but not at this exponential rate. So if you’re going to fix it.Number 3. Started with Walters, JD left him in a couple batters too long, and then JD chose Fischer of all the bullpen options to pour gas on the situation.
It has ended already. Schools are flipping kids and breaking the coaches rule that has been in place since the start of baseball. Tennesee and Auburn both flipped a player from us in 2026I’ll counter and say with the onslaught starting with basehits and not walks it’s harder to stop it cause it happens faster. Start by fully funding 29-30 scholarships. Then find you a coach that recruits like he’s in a revenue sport. Baseball is weird in that once a kid commits that battle is over. That **** needs to end. You recruit until they sign! Until we do that, this program is done. No matter who the coach is
Agree. When you only have one legitimate weekend starter, you are going to lose almost every series. The poor coaching decisions simply add fuel to the fire and the game is over by the 5th inning.I already see hope and for this post I’ll use “excuses” but I don’t think that’s the word I want to use. Because I think we all know JD isn’t it.
But idea of shuffling arms, moving guys in the line up, it was only 1 inning, etc are just that…excuses and/or short term fixes. We are just not that good. Out talent isn’t horrible so that’s why for the most part we can string innings together to make us look capable. We are like a mid major with a few guys who are legit P5’s. But in the end JD, our talent, etc is why our record is what it is. There are a few freshman that I have hope for; if they get the right coaching.
Did he mention any movement within the coaching staff ? lol also, there is a rumor that Walter’s was in a sling after he came out last night . Any truth to that ?JD confirmed there will be movement in the weekend rotation before we get up to UNC
Bad news for Walters. I always thought pushing him to be a starter after not pitching for essentially two years was too much to ask of him. We can only hope for the best and reconfigure the rotation if he is not available.Did he mention any movement within the coaching staff ? lol also, there is a rumor that Walter’s was in a sling after he came out last night . No clue on the truth to the Walter’s rumors, I didn’t see him in the sling. Hoping for the best man awful for him and the team if trueDid he mention any movement within the coaching staff ? lol also, there is a rumor that Walter’s was in a sling after he came out last night . Any truth to that ?
Pitching has been the Achilles’ heel of this team for over 10 years And we stupidly made the coach of that unit, the manager of the whole ******* team. SMH one of the dumbest hires made in the University of Miami history, and we all know, that says something. And wasn’t bullpen supposed to be our strength?
I've been saying 28 but I'm starting to lean towards less.Inexcusable with the financial conditions in the college baseball game today. Poor in game decisions and lackluster talent yields what we see.
This program has been way overdue for a shocking change, aka an outsider coming in completely rebuilding. But in true UM fashion it’s been one lazy nepotistic hire after another.
Buckle up fellas…going to be tough to get to the 23 wins I predicted for the season.
