Gall's prediction on remaining recruits.

Let me preface this by saying I don't think Gall knows anything more about these situations than anyone on here does. I doubt that he's in close contact with all these guys and that they're telling him their business.

Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, Keith Bryant is one of those guys who gets corches fired because it's almost impossible to pass him up. Yet, when you sign him and too many guys like him you get fired because, invariably, guys like Keith bust. It's real man business on the interior lines in football. If you don't bring your lunch pail to work with you, then you will get your puzzy pounded by the men who do. It's really that simple. Talent will only get you so far when we're talking about interior linemen.

Look no farther than Marcus Fartspin as the prime example. The 2 or 3 times that he showed up to play during his career at UM he was special (ND bowl, and Vag Tech games come to mind). The rest of the time he was garbage, and he got whipped out there. I can assure you that Keith is not more physically talented than Fartspin. Based on his sub-par effort during his senior season, his me-first nonsense during recruiting and now reportedly showing up to all-star practice out of shape, this is the type of dude who kills corches.

Sad thing is that we almost have to stay on him because there aren't many other options. This is one of those deals where if there were other options or we weren't in such desperate need of DTs, I'd drop him like a hot potato. I know the majority of dudes on here enjoy his clown show during the recruiting process, but I'm not a big fan of interior linemen with questionable work ethic and a seeming starvation for attention.

Great post. And the sad thing about Forston is that he committed to UM early, never wavered, and recruited his *** off for this program. IMO a guy like Forston succeeds under Al Golden but his attitude was too ****ed up by time Golden got here. Bryant is a less-talented kid doing the opposite for a coach that will make him work 1000% time harder, and won't be forced to play him.

That said I hope to **** that we sign Keith Bryant.

Agree with this. At this point I'd rather add a guy like the Juco being recruited by Baylor or the DT from VA. If Bryant wants in as the 3rd guy that's great, but if not fine, as long as Bostwick and someone else are on-board.

I agree with Hegemon and Chise.
Gall is one of my favorite recruits, but most of what he said was based on closely following "recruiting" like most of the people on this board and other boards. Maybe he was able to communicate with some other recruits but I doubt they will divulge what they keep inside.

I'd take a NO star kid with a chip on his shoulder and an attitude problem over Keith Bryant and his overrated ***.

If I was playing NCAA and recruiting this kid in dynasty mode he would be labeled BUST

EXACTLY!!

Nobody knows how Bryant will respond once he signs and is working from the bottom of the depth chart during summer regardless of how he's been the last 4 months. Give me the talented kid and put him to work.

I still think it's up in the air for some of these guys. If Collins, AQM, Coley and Thomas announce miami (or any 3 combination of them), you gotta figure the other guys (Bryant, Kirkland) will get excited. Once a team gets hot in recruiting and kids start announcing, other kids tend to follow

I thought Kirkland and 6 were a package deal?

If we lose Kirkland it would be because of the number of OL's we already have and the number we are taking this cycle. Just my opinion.
He may think it will be a crowded field.

If Golden didn't think he'd be worth it, he wouldn't be chasing Bryant.

I just think it's that simple sometimes. Still a great discussion, though.

The Kirkland news bothers me a lot! But Bryant is ****ing me off FSU has 11 DT and they lose 4 to graduation so they are in good position for a DT... but he has to understand with his skill set he will get burn early here, he will beat out guys like King and Grimble... I don't understand this guy but I think he is gone...

Great post. Agree with everything there.

x2. My thoughts exactly.

I want him because we need DTs. But even if he does come i'd be surprised if he amounted to anything here.

Or he could turn out to be Louis Nix...
You still take recruit the **** out of him.

Most DTs these days are flakes.. It's a crap shoot

JC

Was Nix really that much of a flake?
I've read several posts from folks likening Bryant's games to Nix's recruitment.
I don't see it that way.
Nix committed to us and then simply flipped over to NLame.
I don't remember him making too much noise and drama.
He changed his mind, and that was that.
I think the DLine recruit who kind of went Diva during the process was the late Bryan Pata.
He was an OK for us, perhaps a mild bust but then again so was most of the players on that
team thanks to the clowns running that program.

Nix had some drama but not this much. I remember him saying he was 70% committed and things like that. Saying he was solid but then turning around and taking trip after trip to South Bend. It was one of those where you knew it was coming but it took a bit longer than it should have.

Thread should be titled "Alex Gall Throwing **** Against The Wall"

Exactly. Gall is basically talking as a poster on a message board. I appreciate his enthusiasm, but I hope he talks a little less.

I thought we cooled on Nix.

I doubt that Alfredrick The Great Golden likes him commenting on recruits the way he did in that blog post. Nothing great comes from him talking about our recruits being likely to go to fsu or some other school.

Other than the fact that unlike most here he has actually talked to some of the players in question, so not a completely uninformed opinion, though opinion nonetheless .
