Gaby’s mock class

That's a tremendous class by July. My guess is that a few will be replaced with others.

How big will this class be?

You still need hosses up the middle. Bama and UGA are getting monsters in the middle of their defense, which is why they keep winning championships. OSU gets flash and skill, but can't hold up when going against the Tide and Dawgs.

You can't rely on the Portal for everything. We are desperately thin on skill and size in the middle of our front 7. That absolutely must be addressed this class, and Bain/Washington/Bryant alone ain't cutting it.

WR - Joseph, Washington, Brown, Jean
TE - Williams, Carver, Mikeska
OL - Mauigoa, Okunlola, Alinen, Tripp, Tinilau
Edge - Wayne, M’Pemba, Acheampong
DL - Bain, Walker, Mitchell
LB - Washington, Bryant, Aguirre
CB - McClain, Stafford, Brown
S - Ageuro, Bonsu

There are some that are currently trending other ways, but I feel this staff will put full court press and if we have a good year may be able to pull.

This would be a 322.27 score on the class calculator.

So many difference makers at every level. Also lots of explosive athletes for special teams. The trenches will be fortified the next few years….hoping we can pull some big fish this year and look towards 2024/5 to really be in the hunt.

It’s unlikely we’ll reach this level, but I’m aiming high! This is the type of class we’re going to have to start bringing in to compete at the championship level year in and year out.

Cool to see. Long way to go. No way we get everyone here, and we probably will get some not on this list.

Who is the one guy on this mock class you most want? Is Mauigoa the obvious obvious answer?

Either him or Okanalu...

I think McClain and Harbor would be close as well.
 
Anyone have Hussey intel?

He was the surprise in there (albeit with the lowest confidence level)...I took it as a bad sign he pumped fake on legends weekend (was reported as coming as late as thurs/fri then no show)

ok see now you loose me. dude you cant start mentioning BAMA, UGA and OSU. those are the standard and natty teams. cristobal is not going to get to miami and immediately have a BAMA or UGA in the class especially in the d-line with a 20 years of Miami mediocracy . c'mon man be reasonable.

the comparison to natty teams would be valid 2 or 3 years down the line but not today

BTW all of those natty teams also dip in the portal especially bama!

That would be a monster class but would have some serious misses at DT. Also would need someone else at RB and LB. Stanquan Clark at LB for instance. Wont say Baxter at RB because its already hella loaded with 5 5 stars

You start building those natty teams 2-3 years down the line with this class. And we're INCREDIBLY small/low on numbers in the middle of our defense.

As an example, Kirby Smart got Jordan Davis and Davonte Wyatt -- the two pillars of this year's national title team, and one of the best college defenses of all time -- in his first two classes at UGA.

As another example, Saban won his first title at Bama in 2009 -- his third full season. His first full recruiting class was signed in February 2008 . That class included Donta Hightower, Courtney Upshaw, Terrence Cody, and Marcell Dareus. Those guys were the building blocks of a dominant defense.

Mario will lay the foundation now, for what we're hoping is a title contender in 2-3 years. And that foundation needs to be built upon dominant OL and interior DL play. This "mock" class addresses the OL (incredibly, I might add), but two LBs and a 250-pound IDL in the first class would not be a good start to that defensive foundation, even if the rest of the class looks great.
