Gabe Taylor

Holds stud offers from Rhode Island and Coastal Carolina...and yes, many on this site will
Continue their Diaz bashing witch-hunt that should offer. If he were to accept, the same crowd would bash Diaz for offering.
It’s same crow that bash them for taking a Zion or Chris Washington..does the kid deserve an offer yes, as a PWO

I thought he had an offer from Duke or GT too, but maybe I heard wrong.

BTW, we’d probably lose to at least one of Rhode Island or Corstal Carolina.

I’d def take Gabe as PWO. I was just wondering since I thought I read on here yesterday that we had 5-7 spots open and multiple threads on peeps that we were throwing offers at. Might as well throw a bone to ST’s bro while they are dishin em out!

He will get more offers after the early signing period ends and teams have missed on kids and start going further down their board.

Stop it.....You offer Sean's Brother....this shouldn't even be a topic for discussion...

Just like you offer Ray Lewis’ kid? Or Edge’s nephew? Or Artie Burns’ little brother? I’m all for bringing in legacy kids, but honesty this program is not in good enough shape to be taking fliers on people. They needs kids that are as close to guarantees as possible. I know that doesn’t happen nearly as much as we all would like. But we have needs Gabe Taylor is not going to address, so giving him an offer just because his is Sean T’s little brother should come with some discussion...

If 2stars from Mt.Zion can get offers than Little Sean T can too

Not in my book...

The only difference is the 2 star from Mt Zion also has offers from GT, PSU, TX, and MD, and Gabe has offers from Akron and Coastal Carolina. Maybe if you have one open spot late in the regular signing period you evaluate giving him a look, but not right now.

That’s fine. But when he in on scout team his redshirt sophomore year and transfers to Stetson this program will still be lacking contributors. We’ve given plenty legacy based offers before, and the definition of insanity is doing things over and over again and expecting a different result. I’m not saying Gabe Taylor isn’t a good football player or that he couldn’t contribute. I’m saying that offering kids purely based on legacy status is a great way to be a mediocre program.

Does this kid deserve an offer? I say yes
I officiate high school basketball and he was sitting next to me before my game. I know size isnt everything, especially when we've had guys like jaquan and ray lewis...but im 5'10 155 and I felt like I was towering over the kid.

Listed as 5'10, now u lyin.

Also Bandy, and plenty other players. Since when do we write off someone for height? Especially at DB? That's not exactly the only measure of innate ability.
Just seeing this... he's not 5'10. I am 5'10 and was next to him. He's 5'6 or 7

So does he deserve a offer now? Just asking. Looks like the staff is reaching, and he could be a reach that we could seal the deal with.

I saw some of Taylor's hoop highlights recently, on twitter not bad, but nothing special...Probably a d2 player, or maybe small d1? I think he's better at football, but he just looks small...And at that small you gotta be a burner, and if you are FS or really even corner aren't your position...5-7 5-8 usually play wr if they make g5.

The kid does look like he knows how to play db though...For being new to the game he has instincts. I wouldn't be surprised if fcs or group 5 schools took a chance on him. I don't think UM will.

He's 5'8" at best, but we're also going to be at about 50 scholarship players, so what the ****, maybe ol' Mugsy Bogues can play a little DB. Legacy-wise, he's got to be better than Feagles kid.

Gabe may have missed the tall genes unfortunately, his older brother Joey is over 6 foot. His moms is under 5' 4'' I think. He may still get a late growth spurt.

Also he is ST26 half brother so he only has ~50% of the genes that gave Sean his amazing talent.

We understand your point but out of all the legacy kids Sean Ts doesnt need debate. Give the kid a scholly. This program is nearly 30 players under the limit btw.

Normally I hate the demand to always take a bunch of legacies but let’s be real about where this team is at today. Why not take some? Joey Freshwater at FAU was basically taking every former player’s kid before he left. Miami would probably lose to FAU this season.

The recruiting class is short 7-9 spots today and the team is nowhere close to the 85 scholarship cap. Unless Miami is taking a bunch of transfer starters who are available multiple years and committed to the program moonshot legacies aren’t the worst option.
