Not only will they have won it in their first year. They will have won with a bunch of Miami players that Mario thought weren't good enough and that he could only win 7 games with.

Had we beaten GT, a loss to a high powered Syracuse O wouldn’t have mattered.

Very true, I call them the Canestangs, lol, not really but you’re 100% correct. Imagine if we win out and we play them then they beat us, imagine how that would go.

I don’t have much confidence that this team can win vs mediocre teams with this defense. What’s even more disturbing is once Cam graduates this defense looks like a 2 year project under much better coaching. Who steps up and plays Superman next season?

Yeah there's zero chance we make the playoffs if we lose the ACCCG.

There's a much better chance of making it if we finish the season 11-1 and don't make the ACCCG.

The thing is that if we finish 11-1 then we are automatically in the ACCCG.

There is no scenario where we go 11-1 and don't make the ACCCG.

I get you, but the reality is, all we have to do is beat Wake Forest, Syracuse, and SMU (currently) and we are in the playoff, ACC Champs, with a bye.

That's about as easy as it gets. We don't even have to play Clemson.

Frankly, if we can't win those three games, we don't deserve to get in at all. It's not like it would get any better for us later playing better teams in the playoff, even if we did squeak in.

SMU is way better than Clemson but yeah, if they can't beat them they don't deserve to be in the playoffs

I’m not sure, how much the CFPC will punish a 11-1 regular season with a ACCCG loss it would mean putting in multiple 2 to 3 loss SEC teams that didn’t even play in a conference championship. It could happen, but I also think they could get in if they lose close.

The Miami brand still holds weight so it’s possible we could still get in. That being said, if we can’t run the table against “powerhouse” programs such as Wake, Syracuse, and SMU we probably don’t deserve to be in the playoff.

I think I remember watching an interview with the playoff committee chair and he said teams won’t be penalized for losing in a conference championship game, whether they actually practice that, yet to be seen.

Yeah. Different scenario, but they kept FSU out last year, bc they had no QB, with no losses. Could possibly keep us out with 1 loss, and a Heisman candidate QB. Ironic, huh? Or,.. Money talks, Bull**** walks.

Precisely. Syracuse has a significantly better offense and the bellies will be full of Thanksgiving turkey. After yesterday, I'm not sure about that game anymore.
