We needed to win to outpace Pitt, we lost then they lost.
It sucked and the doomsdayers will run amok about how we suck etc…for the next two weeks, but shockingly the sun rose agin today.

And never forget two of our most hated rivals gave up 100pts between them.

Agree. Without any ranked wins two losses keeps any ACC team out. Only ACC team that gets in with two losses is the one that wins the championship game.

I’m not sure, how much the CFPC will punish a 11-1 regular season with a ACCCG loss it would mean putting in multiple 2 to 3 loss SEC teams that didn’t even play in a conference championship. It could happen, but I also think they could get in if they lose close.

I think I remember watching an interview with the playoff committee chair and he said teams won’t be penalized for losing in a conference championship game, whether they actually practice that, yet to be seen.

This could end up being true, but even if we made it as an 11 or 12 seed, its an ugly path. Playing on the road against the 5 or 6 would be challenging, followed by another road game if we advanced.

Just win out, play in the ACC championship, and hopefully win. It would be a first for Miami and more than likely gives us a bye in the playoffs.

I get you, but the reality is, all we have to do is beat Wake Forest, Syracuse, and SMU (currently) and we are in the playoff, ACC Champs, with a bye.

That's about as easy as it gets. We don't even have to play Clemson.

Frankly, if we can't win those three games, we don't deserve to get in at all. It's not like it would get any better for us later playing better teams in the playoff, even if we did squeak in.

This. Wake will be a dog fight. We will let them score. That slow mesh will have us all messed up looking at the stars

Yeah there's zero chance we make the playoffs if we lose the ACCCG.

There's a much better chance of making it if we finish the season 11-1 and don't make the ACCCG.

I keep reading all these posts about getting into the Playoffs.

Do you really want to match up with the calibre of teams that reach the Playoffs?

I've been hoping against hope that Guidry figures something out with this D, but if anything they're getting worse. I don't want to see us getting dog walked on a national stage.

If we win the ACCCG I'll be elated and we'll deserve the spot in the Playoffs. I don't want to backdoor our way in if we lose that game though - I'll take a nice quiet Bowl Game and quietly shelve this season as progress, but must do better in 2025.
