Funny note on Josh Jobe (who?)

2 years from now Jobe is going to call Richt from the office of some random Juco in Kansas begging to come back home. Richts going to giggle and hang up.

The staff went out of there way to work with Cheshire and make sure everything was planned out for the guys success and he turned around and spit on them. **** him.

2 years?? I give him 1 year. 1 year on his own flailing around in a &hithole JUCO town and he’ll be on his knees.

Once his baggage outweighs his talent, he’ll be treated like dog&hit. And I don’t think he’s got the cajones to fight through that.

Wasn't it reported on here or maybe somewhere else that when he was showing up on our campus with his dad one of the things the coaches did was have him meet with the academic advisors to help him get ready to enroll here.

That shows me the staff knew he might have had a problem and was trying to help him. Bama sure as **** didn't do anything to help him qualify. Hope theyre looking back on this now and saying "**** Coach Richt and Miami had our backs"

They will probably blame Richt and Miami for not helping him enough instead. This just has the feel of people who always blame others no matter what.

Get your boners under control and read the article. It looks like the issue isn't him getting in, it's him getting in before the fall.

"Those grades will determine whether Jobe has to do some work this summer such as taking a summer class before being able to enroll at Alabama."

Ummm... you still have to qualify academically to enroll in the fall. If he doesn't have the core credits and a qualifying SAT score, he's not getting in.

Yeah, I get that. The article is about him trying to enroll early in the summer as opposed to late in the summer. There's no mention of him not getting in, just some question about when he'll get in.

"I think worst case is that he may have to do a little summer work to get there," Dykeman said. "But again, I'm pretty confident that he's going to be OK (to enroll in May)."

Maybe he'll have to go JUCO, but as of now that's just some sht people on here made up.

Yeah, I don’t wish ill on these kids either - and, yes, Jobe’s still a kid - but I also don’t make light of learning disabilities.

Friend of the family was a LB who signed with a Big 10 school. He was also a Prop 8 - for those old enough to know what Prop 8 was. Long story, short: He quit football, enrolled at another school, concentrated on his books, went to law school, passed the bar, and has been practicing law for the last 20 years. I’m **** proud of him.

Jobe doesn’t deserve the time this thread gives him, but as a few have pointed out, this is a failure by the adults in his life. I can only hope that someone rights his path - whether he goes 1st round or never plays another down of football.

the only adult in his life to blame at this point is himself. he's 20 years old. a trained chimp can qualify at bama. ****, an untrained one throwing ***** at a scantron could luck its way through the sat.

No there is a poster on the bama board who has a connect at Cheshire and was right on the recruitment said it would be hard for him to qualify

As a former athlete who earned a full scholarship now it was D2 but same guidelines to qualify..If he doesn't post a high enough score on the ACT Bama can just claim he has a learning disability and he will get put on a academic plan. Trust me they will get him in. Same if he was committed to Miami still.. Remember when his dad said he was looking for Miami to take care of his son.. Well money wise and getting him qualified that's wat he meant.

they can't just "claim" him as having a disability unless he was formally tested for one. They can still foot the bill I suppose, but he still has to demonstrate it based on some IQ assessment by a qualified professional. At that point he can retake his ACT at a future date with whatever accommodations are recommended. That would definitely delay his enrollment if they go that route, but is theoretically possible. Then there is always the JUCO route.

Pretty sure if he didn't take it the beginning of May (and scores don't come out for a couple of weeks) the next and LAST time the test is offered until September is in June.
