This. Thanks for the info.
We can only hope this man gets his waiver for 2019 or graduates in May.
I'm assuming he's already started classes spring semester with Miami?
This. Thanks for the info.
We have to remember. Enos pro style is the modern NFL pro style. Not the old i-form. Short passing game, we may use that for short yardage but not as often. Enos pro style is more McVay than Chip Kelly. Considering our OL isn't the biggest, I am sure we are going to mix a lot of short yardage plays with rollouts and RB screens like we saw Bama use with Tua. We also saw with pressure (blitz) he would throw corner post routes or move the dynamic WR to the slot. Especially to Jeudy. Crossing routes should be huge. I see a lot of middle passes to the TE's. If you watched Tua, he was a nightmare going to Smith down the middle. Bama struggled with it.Great analysis Roman, as always mate! Loving his quick twitch and lightning release. Sure, is he 6’6”? Nope, but for my money I’d rather have someone who can get the ball out quickly, accurately, or gain the yardage necessary via his feet. This young man checks all the boxes, I’m really liking his addition to the QB room. He will inevitably push the other QB’s to increase their level of competition or they’ll be left in the dust. So, all around that works greatly in our favor. That and I can’t wait to we him throw a rope to Brevin for a TD. Those 2 are going to be magical for the Canes mark my words.
He wasn't beating out Fields. Fields is a top 2 pick in 2021 with Lawrence. Fields was highly rated even in sparingly mins by PFF. Even higher than Lawrence during the season, pre-bowls.Only thong that concerns me is why would ohio st go after fields when they had him? And he leaves because he dont want to compete with fields
To be fair, when fields announced he was transferring, every school in America wanted him, this isn’t a knock on Tate, I’m sure even Bama and Clemson got into contact with Fields, that’s what championship teams do, they stack chips, if I had to guess, they probably told Martell he would have to compete and told Fields otherwise.Only thong that concerns me is why would ohio st go after fields when they had him? Don't have time to bring up all the posts but here is a couple of examples:

View attachment 77259There is nothing there that isn't true. He didn't have the team to play SF teams day in day out and win every game. I said he would never be the starting QB at OS which turned out True. He's got heart, many times that can over come other things like height. He did play 2 or 3 out of state teams that were good a year, gotta give the kid props he won those games. This kid can make Miami football fun to watch again that's for sure. Let's see what the coach can do with him, he hasn't played a good team since HS. So we really don't know what he can do. Can't wait to see though.
I honestly would not have faulted a guy like Williams (who I think I could elevate the qb play from a year ago on the field) for leaving a Mark Richt offense. I honestly do not think people understood how difficult it was for a quarterback to operate under that style of offense. I ultimately got validation from that fact later on in the season when I had the opportunity to talk candidly with a former player. It was honestly a surreal experience and just a intrinsic view of things that I valued being able to see.
Lol at people trashing his comp and saying he would lose to SF teams. Do y’all forget he beat STA like that’s the best team from Florida lol. Now I’m not saying I know he’s gonna be a great one yet but I don’t get the bashing of the kid. I think we can win big with him. Bc of one thing. WE WON 10 GAMES WITH ROSIER WHO IS DOG****
You know the funny thing. A lot of times in my head I think I actually am simplifying things. (No wonder I got kicked off a flag football team once for being "too confusing in the huddle" I mean I just told them "Kick black left, White Right, Center call on me, check with me on the line in case we need to go Baylor")
Do you see more of Manziel than Baker? That’s the resemblance I see on tape with the exception of running plays designed to go deep. Obviously with his playing time, they likely weren’t calling those plays in blowouts.Wrote this about him earlier today:
I don't see Baker Mayfield. As I mentioned in a chat off this board, I tried to watch every throw available from him on the internet. The 23/28 this year is slightly misleading. There were some bubbles, etc., and a decent amount of digs and short outs. He throws those well and with accuracy. A few passes downfield, including a long TD down the sideline.
From his other tape, I just don't see Baker Mayfield unless we limit the comparison to his feet. Martell has *a lot* of pop in his feet. It's really noticeable inside the pocket. That's really important stuff in terms of modern football and extending plays. When he throws on the run, he was very solid. He sometimes throws from wild feet/platforms. I was expecting a different caliber of arm when people mentioned Baker Mayfield. It's closer to the kid from UCF.
All in all, it's great for the program because, at worst, it pushes the others. At best, we have a seemingly accurate, shifty QB who can get playmakers the ball.
Basically, watched the same stuff you posted because it's what's available of his live snaps. I'd be very curious how his game changes under Enos and how he'd look throwing some of those deeper crosses and deep posts. The good news is he seems like he has all the traits to be a QB who moves the chains - perhaps the biggest thing we've lacked here forever.
But they didn’t winI went to that game STA should have won by 3 TD's. That's when they had Jake Allen, he sucked up the joint. That was not one of STA"s best years for sure. They won 25 to 24 I believe on a two point conversion. His local competition is absolute ****, most games were over by the end of the first quarter. I'm hoping the kid does great, I'm just not sold on a 5'10 QB. That being said he's going to be our QB I hope he kills it.

I doubt anyone said his high school competition was garbage. They played the toughest schedule in the entire country his senior year. But, according to posters here:
His competition in HS was garbage.
He doesn't have good arm strength.
He is too short and wouldn't be able to see the field
He doesn't have sound mechanics.
Feel free to add to this list, people.
Yeah, but can you say that in Latin?
Hahaha. Maybe pig Latin
