Fred Davis to the Portal

I can tell some of you did terrible in math. Yes, duh, the denominator is bigger. Because there are a lot of players who are pretty decent but not the absolute best. Saying the denominator is bigger is not a gotcha in any way. There are thousands upon thousands of zero stars who rode the bench in high school. I’d imagine they did pretty bad in the draft too. “Denominator effect” amirite?

And did you know, in the NFL, instead of stars, they decided to do a draft where they pick who they think are the best players from college? Similar to recruit rankings, they rank all the players coming out of college and decide who is best!

Crazy. And to think my major in college was math. Oh, and when I worked in the NFL, it would have been good to know all of this. Thanks for sharing.

I don’t believe you. My best subject by far was math. This is pretty **** simple. In 2022 very few if any players are under the radar.

Please describe in detail how the star system doesn’t work when 58% of 5 stars get drafted, 24% of 4 stars, and 7% of 3 stars. If your answer is that there are simply more 4 and 3 star players than 5, then you are an idiot. You think if they randomly selected 35 3 stars they’d be drafted at a rate of 58%? Or the best 35 3 stars?
