Not sure. He’s a five star. That should mean he’s automatically a front line player and guaranteed first round draft choice. It’s against the rules of the star system for clemson not to have him be a full time starter. There should be an investigation. Guys like Witfong and Newberg gave him that ranking for a reason: It’s because they know more than coaches like Dabo, so if there’s a problem it can’t be the star system.
53% of 5 stars get drafted. Compared to 6% of 3 stars. It's not a problem with the star system. Just impossible to know for sure who will pan out.

I find it amazing that many of you want to bring him here when he couldn’t sniff the field at Clemson. I thought we were trying to rid our roster of jags. Stop getting caught up in the star system. How did Fred Ladaon look this year? Just another guy.

@Ksoze8 - I completely agree. Worse than that, some on this board are advocating for NIL money for some of these bums. If you can't sniff the field at another school, we aren't going to waste NIL money on you. Come in and prove yourself and the money will come. NIL money should be all about paying for the potential of HS recruits, not taking chances on guys that have already failed somewhere.

denominator effect.

there are significantly fewer 5 stars than 3 stars. of course, the percentages will be disparate.

if the "star system" worked, we would have used it in the NFL.

I can tell some of you did terrible in math. Yes, duh, the denominator is bigger. Because there are a lot of players who are pretty decent but not the absolute best. Saying the denominator is bigger is not a gotcha in any way. There are thousands upon thousands of zero stars who rode the bench in high school. I’d imagine they did pretty bad in the draft too. “Denominator effect” amirite?

And did you know, in the NFL, instead of stars, they decided to do a draft where they pick who they think are the best players from college? Similar to recruit rankings, they rank all the players coming out of college and decide who is best!
