The Miami Hurricanes added much needed size and experience to their WR room with the commitment of former Liberty and LSU standout CJ Daniels. The 6’2, 205-pound Atlanta native has compiled 148 catches for 2,434 yards (16.4 YPC) and 21 touchdown catches over his five-year college career.
Daniels exploded in 2023 at Liberty, putting up 1,097 yards and 10 TDs on an outstanding 19.4 yards per catch. He transferred to LSU, where he made 42 catches for 480 yards while battling a heel injury.
“He’s a great leader,” LSU coach Brian Kelly said. “And he’s been a glue guy for us in terms of consistency every single day playing through a more significant injury than maybe people realize. He’s had a pre-existing condition, a heel injury that is almost a dislocation, that I don’t know how he does it.”
“He practices, and we’re careful with his practice during the week to get him to Saturdays. And then on Saturdays, he’s just so consistent. Down the field blocking, he’s one of our best, if not our best, blocker. He’s precise with his route-running. He’s got strong hands at the point of attack.”
Isaiah Horton’s decision to enter the Portal created a huge need for a big-bodied, reliable receiver, which matches Daniels’s profile. He is a physical runner with 734 yards after contact, and he is also tough at the catch point (67% contested-catch percentage). His experience (2,257 career snaps) and winning background (46 career wins) will help a room with talented youngsters like JoJo Trader and Ny Carr.
Daniels chose Miami over Auburn and Ole Miss.
Seriously? Why did he even commit then?buddy is gone
Speculating, and common sense. Zero chance dude stays here to play with EmorySeriously? Why did he even commit then?
Or are you just speculating?
I mean there was such a little chance we were going to get Mateer, so what was the kid looking at then?Speculating, and common sense. Zero chance dude stays here to play with Emory
Likely lied to by MarioI mean there was such a little chance we were going to get Mateer, so what was the kid looking at then?
I thought he talked highly about Emory?
That just doesn't seem to fit the narrative that I have always heard about Mario and how he operates. But I guess we shall see what unfolds in the situation.Likely lied to by Mario
Maybe dude got paid so much he doesn't care who the QB is, money talksThat just doesn't seem to fit the narrative that I have always heard about Mario and how he operates. But I guess we shall see what unfolds in the situation.
Maybe he didn’t sign so he can just decommitMaybe dude got paid so much he doesn't care who the QB is, money talks
Maybe he is like me and saw enough from Emory to believe that we can win games with him at QB. It will be our defense that needs to improve if we are going to have a successful season.Maybe dude got paid so much he doesn't care who the QB is, money talks
Yeah, that's what I was trying to figure out also. Just doesn't make sense.Lmao the guy committed while mateer was in Oklahoma visiting but now cis finest will apply “common sense” to come to the conclusion he was blatantly lied to by Mario, didn’t wanna just wait a day to see if he was telling the truth, and will now decommit within 24 hours. Brilliant stuff.
Not sure Poff was the # 2. The one time the Cam came out with a more than like 4 minutes left in the game Emory was the guy who came in to run the actual offense. Poff only came in when it was under 5 minutes and we were basically running out the clock. Some of that was likely to make sure Emory played less than 4 games so he could RS but seems odd the # 2 wouldn't have been the first guy to come in when we pulled Cam with like a quarter to go against Ball State.oh ****, dawg i thought you were joking, didn't realize you had this queued up
To think Poff beat out Emory for #2 and what we saw from Poff was, meh
Atleast wait until the kid actually leaves before you start making up reasons for why he leftLikely lied to by Mario
