How does Golden's team handle the weather?

Do we still huddle by the heaters?

Dude, this is going to be one **** of a cold game! Easily the coldest weather most of these kids have ever seen. If it is that cold and overcast, then these boys are going to be mentally tested by the weather alone. I am honestly more concerned about this weather than anything else but Te'o. I am worried they wont react well, and honestly that has nothing to do with our coach, unless you think he should practice in a giant refrigerator.

The cold will be one of the reasons why we are going to get killed this Saturday. Not quite as bad as KSU but still...a beatdown.

I understand what you are saying, but I disagree. If you build in toughness into the players, they should be able to take the cold. Mid to high 30s is cold, but it's not that cold that the players shouldn't be able to play. Unlike hot weather where it is more of a conditioning thing, cold weather is more pain tolerance.

Could really use AlexnCollins and our two TE's coming in for this game.

I hope someone in the locker room or the coaches show that pic and tell them not to wear that princess ****. Man up we really have an opportunity to look real good and to get some sort of national respect.

I've watched ND a decent amount this year. And their DEF is no joke - it's not like ND is playing Citadel every week - their opponents are legit BCS level teams. I still think Kehoe was a big mistake hire and i think our OL gets wrecked by that front seven. That will lead to a ton of Morris mistakes and our running game shut down. And i wouldn't discount the cold - for whatever reason, our boys wilt in the cold. 45 degrees, rain, with 16mph biting Lake Michigan wind will seem like freezing hail to our kids. I know what it's like to go from tropical 90's to near freezing and it aint pretty. lol.

What does it say about Notre Dame that the best offense they've faced will be the one that they play on Saturday? Morris is clearly the best passer they've faced. Our WRs are better than anything they've faced as well. Notre Dame has been able to play low-risk offensive football and win. Maybe that continues on Saturday. Our defense is bad enough that they'll probably have a good day buy they're not that different from the Stanford team that lost to Washington this past Thursday. Play D, run the ball and and limit bad plays from your QB. Their offensives numbers are terrible and I think their defensive numbers are inflated by the competition they've faced. If the neutral site was Tampa and not Chicago I'd really like our chances. Forgive me for not being afraid of a team that uses a QB as a closer.

On Morris, even in the team's worst outing he didn't make a "ton of mistakes". Every week he grows up a little more and his QB skill shows more and more. Consistency is an issue, but he is be the best QB going into that game.

Hey Hawaii you have cemented you status as a negative whining ninnie along with a number of other posters. Morris had been sacked ONCE in his last 100 attempts and you think Kehoe was a mistake. .Weather will be in the 40's which isnt cold enough to have an impact. Weather in El Paso was 34 degrees. If we lose its because we lack experience on defense not because of weather. AS these players improve from game to game we will get better and we have enough skill players to make some big plays and keep us in the game .With each game we win the whiners become less credible.

I actually disagree with those saying the weather won't be a factor. I live in Montana and when teams from California, Texas, etc. come to play here (during the FCS playoffs) the weather has both a psychological and physical impact on the game. It rarely has no impact (usually only if the team has played here in the cold before). I hope I'm wrong, but I'll be surprised if it doesn't affect Miami negatively.

If we let the weather affect our play, we don't deserve to win.

No excuses.

Bingo... Our fans are the biggest kids looking for a excuse for losing. I live in South Florida and go Snow Skiing in sub zero and I am no athlete. This is 43f and that isn't cold all they have to do is wear a high tech Under Armor **** for cold weather and they will be warm if they are running around. The guys on the bench can wear a wrap. NO HEATERS on the SIDELINES they are drugs.

Last time I sat in the stands and watched the Canes play in temps in the 30's, we tore the entire state of Texas a new *******.

It's about toughness. Period.

El Paso was about how soft we were as a team.

UTough. In not sweating the weather.

On offense, I think the weather is going to magnify the Canes weaknesses. The receivers, who already drop a fair amount of passes, are going to have a more difficult time catching Morris' passes, especially since he has a tendency to throw some passes overly hard. The receivers are already slow getting in and out of routes, they are going to be even slower as they will be less sure of their footing. The offensive line is going to be slower setting up to pass block, they are going to have a harder time moving ND's defensive line because of footing, etc. And how will Morris react to a harder, colder ball than he is used to? Maybe/hopefully the weather really isn't going to be that cold, but it's still going to be 50 degrees colder than Miami is used to playing in. A lot of handling the cold is mental approach and toughness. But it isn't all toughness when you aren't used to playing in it. I see the weather as an advantage for the Irish, similar to the "home" field advantage they will have.
