If they somehow flip Pickett and Alford it’s a strong finish but im not sold on this finish and its a **** shame we wasted this season with our rivals having 15 losses between them to finish behind UF likely

The class is better than uf in ranking and class average. And the season isn’t wasted. The results from this season will fully take hold next cycle

Finishing behind UF would be unfathomable, but only due to a lack of funds spent on the trail (which is odd, because our NIL game is as strong as anyone). In that regard, I’d imagine we’d be looking to focus our efforts on the portal, while UF is trying to parlay their strong finish on the field into HS recruiting, selling hope for the future. To be fair, a lot of their 2023-2024 recruits are seeing the field early and contributing, so that’s their selling point.
I think this season would have a more profound effect on the 2026 class, however. The 2025 class saw us **** down our leg the past two seasons under Mario, and they’re not going to be swayed off of one season.
That, and we simply don’t play in the SEC or Big10, which is no one’s fault…for now.
We were way behind on this class due to two bad seasons and a bunch of coaching changes during that time. It is what it is. Throw bags at Alford/Hanks/Pickett and hope to flip 1 or 2 of them. It’s a class around 10 which needs to be the floor under Mario.
Get back on the horse with a better plan and more to sell with the 26 class. It’s somewhat alarming that we let Florida get so much buzz given what’s played out on the field, but that just goes back to doing better. I think we failed to capitalize on the season we had, but there are still a few days left.
The idea that the plan was to flip multiple OSU commits and multiple UF legacies spoke volumes. This has to be the floor.

So if we lose to the Gators we will pour more money into our recruiting and out-recruit UF next year out of desperation? Looks like a nuclear arms race in the cold war where the only people getting rich are the defense contractors!
Clearly the portal is not all its cracked up to be, Cam is great but for every Cam there are the guys like our DL transfers that may as well just have retired from football since they play like Al Golden level recruits on the dline. Developing players would be much easier if they had not witnessed a bunch of transfer deadweights collecting a check and doing nothing to earn it. We don't see sacks, **** we don't even see one of them in the backfield unless our opponent is running a screen pass.

It’s true we were behind. It’s also true that the plan and execution over the past 4-5 months has been poor. The net result is where we are. What needs to be the floor. Not that hard.
I’ll hope for the next few days we pull a rabbit out of the hat. I’m not, nor have I, expected it. It’s going to be around 10 and that’s what it’s been for months.
