I appreciate that it’s ok tho. I know it’s gone be tough for mark and gone feel weird for a long time
Mine passed (drunk driver) when I was 11 years old, same year I became a Canes fan. Some days are better than others but I still have rough moments at 46 years old. He was my best friend. I hate that Mark knows this feeling, I hate that he has to go thru this. The emptiness, you lose a piece of yourself…forever until you meet again.

Yeah, was definitely carrying too much weight around.

It sucks we probably won’t see Fletcher this weekend.

It is very painful to lose a father when they been in your life everyday. Your father is your first superhero :cry:

Keep your head up Fletcher. We got you until you get back! You got an entire community behind you. Rest easy Pops:love-heart:

Yeah it different when you lose a parent to something like cancer. It still hurts but you get a chance to make peace with everything and say your goodbyes.

Coming home while life is great! Everything is just going so well and then boom, you get that phone call. That makes it so tough because in many cases you just spoke to them:cry::cry:

I remember how sad Mom was and that hurt so bad because I felt helpless.

If it was a playoff or important game like the ACC championship I would have played.

For FSU, I would trust my brothers to get the job done and I would see them next week.
For lots of people keeping busy doing something they love (like playing football) is the best way for them to handle grief. Everyone is different but I personally wanted to try to keep my regular daily life schedule as normal as possible because it helped me make through those first few days that were incredibly hard.

Terrible news, heartbreaking. I hope the team lifts him up and feel certain that they will, prayers for him and his family.

Thoughts and prayers are all good but only way Fletch sees them is if he is on CIS but I know we have some true insiders on the board, is there something we could do a bit more tangible?

I am open to suggestions but I am thinking like something in his locker, donation to a charity his dad was involved in, maybe some meals delivered to his moms and family as I am sure the last thing they want to do right now is cook. Just want to show the young man the fans are behind him and support him. Its a brotherhood.

@DMoney @Brooklyndee
I was thinking this is something Canes Connection should be involved with

Not just providing NIL deals but support for the players in general
