I love the offense. Are we really complaining about a fast paced wide open offense?

The offense needs more stuff down the field, we have some real talented skill players.

No one is complaining about the pace. We had more than 30 attempts within 12-15 yards of the LOS. That is not a "wide open" offense, nor is it sustainable when we play an actual defense.

The defense gave us the underneath stuff, and we took it and had success with it. I see no reason whatsoever to complain. If they weren't playing their corners so far off trying to take away the big plays, we would of adjusted accordingly. It was a great job by Fisch.

Then we should have attacked the middle of the field. They were giving that too. We literally had 4 attempts down the middle of the field.

We took what we could and made a game of it. Reality is that we're not yet competitive. This team today vs fsu would be ugly. Like Lu said, vs a real defense I would be afraid. We had sparks of brilliance and I see SM as a contender this year and next. Duke, he speaks for himself. With time and work this offense could be amazing.

The defense is another story and not for this thread. Lucky too because I believe I can play better than some of them.

I was not happy with Fisch's play calling in the red zone. He abandons the run at the weirdest times. Could've put up 50+ if the O isn't in the shotgun three plays in a row inside the 10.

But, we'll see what happens going forward. I can assure you of one thing: against a halfway decent defense, please project how you guys think we'll do playing on this field -->

Yeah man. I liked what I saw early because you could envision a lot of new ways to attack after what we were showing. Never happened though. I'm worried its because we don't have the skill at TE and WR though.

Since this is clearly a look we have never rolled out before today, do you not think he's capable of planning for whatever team we are facing ?

Oh, he's more than capable of planning for whatever. He's a pretty capable guy overall. It's whether he won't outthink himself. I saw flashes of Andy Reid today. I'm hoping he was trying to settle Morris down. But, this wasn't Morris' first rodeo and he looked good when he tried to push the ball downfield.

Kind of agree with Lu here. I would give Fisch a B- though. I think he gave what the defense offered, and let Morris ease himself into things well. Got him in a nice rythym and kept him away from mistakes.

That said, are we never going to throw a vertical pass again? I think we threw down field twice today. Everything else was dink and dunk and to the outside. That's not going to cut it against better defenses. We also need to air it out more. Morris has got a GUN. We need to at least stretch the defense more. We have some burners, why not take more shots? And DUke needs to be getting more touches. Look, Mike James is a nice kid, and Im sure it helps having him back there to block, but come on. Duke needs more carries. That kid is lightning in a bottle you have.

And do we have a Tight End on this team? Why the F*CK cant we throw a few passes to a TE in the middle? You throw to the TEs in the flat a few times, and the outside stuff would have been much more successful.

Need to run the ball between tackles and run a couple tall sweeps to Duke not James. The dinking and dunking was excessive. Have to take some shots down the field.

I have confidence in Fisch to adapt and make adjustments. If a defense is stacking the box I have no doubts that he'll go deep. Bottom line is that he took what the defense gave him today and we moved the ball pretty well all day long.
