Keeping guys like that around doesn't go over well with the students' parents either. The campus community is just that: a community. Faculty and students, male and female, work there, study there, socialize there, and live there. Just as most of us want to live around compatible or at least law-abiding neighbors, so the on-site academic community deserves an environment that is at least safe.

Another aspect of what Golden has had to deal with and overcome. He's had to get rid of some talented players that would have no doubt helped the team in EJ, finnie, Terry, Storm etc. Shows he's not your typical win at all cost coach and will do what's right even if it impacts results which I can appreciate.

I had a terrific time in college. I had a great deal of fun, and I leaned a lot. I wish everyone could have that sort of opportunity. I went to some athletic events, but they were not among my half-a-dozen or so top interests there. The years at school can be a wonderful time in one's life.

I realize that for someone who has no such fond memories of campus life it may be difficult to appreciate what I am saying. Then just think of your family. Would you really like someone who is potentially violent wandering in and out of your home?
