Few thoughts from a golden cane

Just trying to make sure I have it right. For one reason or another, between 2001-2005 we lost the following coaches from our staff:

Butch
Pagano
Schiano
Soldy
Kehoe
Chud
Curtis Johnson
Stoops
Mario (left in 01, came back in 04)

Some earlier than others but it’s no wonder why our recruiting went to sh*t after these guys were gone. If we were rank the top 10 Cane recruiters of all time 60-70% (could be more) coached here between 2001-2005

Butch was JJs best recruiter from 84-88...if you take into account who Butch closed on those yrs....it's beyond staggering.

Don't think so....but he's very approachable in regards to that.

No idea if it is him, but I am glad to see that I am not the only one that read 'well known former coach' to not necessarily mean a former Miami coach.

Walton was mediocre at best

It felt/looked that way for me too but his track record pretty much every where else was/has been good. I know he was the DB coach for Saban’s LSU natty team in 03. But in hindsight, Saban was more than likely actually coaching the DBs then.

It's not Mullins

Saban is a DB Guru....Walton isn't..

Not sure....I really wanted Mullin as our OC....His work with QBs throughout his career is Top Notch....Don't give af about him being alittle flaky. MFer can flat out coach. Imagine going into Canesville with Mullin as our OC and beating them??....Lol

Agree. He‘s a perfect candidate for Mario to create Coaching Rehab in Miami. Would be a Saban move Mario would be familiar with.
