Few thoughts from a golden cane

I loathe that POS. He ruined one of the best sources of entertainment I have ever experienced in my life.

Imagine turning over a roster that stacked to Meyer? We'd have won at least three or four more NCs.

Let me be clear, he's a piece of ****. But that is fine with me if he gets us to the promised land.
dont hate the coach, hate the dudes who demanded he be the coach.

Nah, the players aren't the reason we lost. They are the best college football team ever assembled and their accomplishments in the league prove it.

They lobbied for a coach they liked. I doubt they thought he'd suck as bad as he did. Tough to blame them - imho.

The reality is Clappy, the BOT, AD, and everyone else responsible for his hire are to blame. They should have been wiser. They have proven to be incompetent and it's tough to argue otherwise. They turned a Lambo into a Mercury...

My two cents.

The players were all time greats but they demanded a trash can coach be in charge vs hiring a competent himan

That entire administration (aside from DiMare, and Leonard & Stu Miller) were total jokes. Fain was okay, but became less & Less involved with any sports. @Brooklyndee will attest.

I remember bumping into erickson in new orleans after the sugar bowl win. I was as trashed as I’ve been without blacking out and still remember going omg that guy is wasted
thats when you know someone is tuned up 😂

I've mentioned this before, I had a picture of him at the 1990 Sugar Bowl/National Championship post-game party at the hotel. It was insane.

Lost that picture somewhere in one of my many moves. Sad.

He sold his townhouse down here basically as he was resigning haha got out quick. Doubt he’s coming back.
he's sick, so he isn't coming back. he has a house in the redneck riviera and moved back to athens where one or more of his kids live. does some TV to keep relevant and active.

great coach, even better human being.

Nah. Hate the people who let it happen. Players lobbying for an assistant to take over is nothing new
you can also blame them all bc they put miami in a now win situation. mass transfers and no title or hiring a nice guy who began the end of miami football. after that, the boosters have destroyed everything using the program for their own greed.

That was Paul Gator Dee...
It was! My brother is married to his step daughter and Paul told me the story when Ed Reed and few other players went to his office and told Paul that Coker was going to be the next coach. Barry Alvarez was rumored at the time and the players wanted nothing to do with Alvarez. Many people may not know this but as SWFLHurricane referenced Paul was a graduate of UF and I think got his law degree from there also.
