Lol I agree with you but I was waiting for it to happen.

@Memnon and myself share the same opinion on Ewers and Beck for that matter.

Ewers doesn't possess Cam's arm-strength but he layers the ball better, can quickly release from multiple arm-slots, and displays good pocket presence. He can make the off-schedule and off-platform plays look effortless and is a better athlete than any QB we've been discussing.

Watching the first two minutes of his highlight you can see several of the same throws and plays Cam made all year with better touch on the deep ball.

He is a very gifted passer with skills that translate to our offense but that seems to be glossed over in comparisons to lesser talents; what am I missing?

I find myself agreeing with more and more portions of your posts these days and it frightens me.

I prefer Mendoza over the other 2 QB "mystery names" personally. Those names might excite the board a little more but this kid in our offense will ball IMO. As I've told others get the big time safety and LB in the playoffs... and keep Martinez and we have a top 10 roster.
Any of the mystery names rhyme with Malen Jilroe

With Manny wrecking the QB market, what in the world would it cost for this guy? I mean if Mensah is a $4 million QB as a G5 sophomore, what is the starting senior QB from Texas with playoff experience and similar numbers against much better competition worth? He’d have to be a $6-$8 million QB, right?

People keep saying: "Georgia wants him, he must be good." Ignoring the type of roster/style of play Georgia has. With the play style/roster that Georgia has they just need a QB that is going to stay on schedule and not turn the ball over. Unless our defense vastly improves, we won't be able to succeed(to the degree that most people "expect") with a guy like Mendoza at QB. He looked relatively well against our defense....but again, who didn't. When I watch his full games(as opposed to highlights) I'm not impressed. With that being said, competition is a necessity so(if I were on the staff) I would definitely be bringing in a QB that has a high ceiling to compete with Emory(and the other QBs). Mendoza is a high floor and relatively high-ish ceiling type of guy in my opinion, so it wouldn't hurt. He is going to have to compete wherever he decides to go though. I wish him the best.

There has been some attrition but they were sophomores and RS freshmen this season. Manny’s boys should’ve been carrying the load the last few years. We’re quite young still overall.
Most coaches when in year 3 but Mario needs 6th year seniors like we are byu to compete and win the mighty ACC actually not even that. We need them to make it to the championship game.

the only thing mendoza has on ewers is his height and NFL size
in terms of arm talent
its not even close
we would be blessed if we could get ewers to come after cam
but I see him going NFL or staying in texas

Mendoza is a lot tougher from what I’ve seen. He will get hit all game and will be the same player.

Ewers gets hit a couple times and feel pressure. He start to see ghost and throw some INT that will leave you asking “ WTF is he seeing out there?”.

But if when comes to just throwing the ball. Ewers is on a different level compared to Mendoza

Ewers is a nice college player and journeyman in NFL at best. He’s made a nice living at Ohio State and Texas, so he’ll be smart and take another college check.

What's a playoff appearance worth? What's the value of continued momentum in year four with a more talented overall team?

We're all wishing we had Cam for 1 more year; well, Ewers has a similar game and may run the offense better than Cam did.
