I am a huge fan of CMR and the amazing impact he has had since he arrived... with that said, feels like this class in a little heavy on 3 stars

Wanted to get thoughts from those of you that are a little (or a lot) more up to speed on the talent we are signing ?

Thanks in advance and Go Canes

Some people care more about the stars than can a kid actually play. How many stars was Michael Jackson or Jaquan Johnson? I'm curious. What about McFadden that went to FSU?

I don't care about stars as much as other but J.Johnson was a solid 4* and the top target in Dade his senior year.

Reminder that McFadden was a 5* prospect, now he’s playing for a roster spot, stars don’t dictate success, effective coaching or a system do

Stars aren't everything, but they definitely mean something

Just look at the ******* playoffs man. Look at Alabama and Clemson, they are loaded with 4 and 5 stars. It's not a coincidence

You have to have a balance. I'll trust Richt for now, but to just blindly follow it would be foolish also. That's what people did with Golden and he littered the team with guys who didn't belong

Recruiting has not been the same with Richt as Folden. I get being unhappy with our results in July but that’s a bit much to say at this point. Otherwise, you right.

There is quantifiable evidence that teams that recruit 4 and 5 Star kids win at a higher level. Smaller margin for error. The blue chip ratio is a pretty legit indicator of championship level roster. The truth is this is a very Al Golden looking class: 1 or 2 headliners, a few guys that are strong 4* guys and then the majority reaches/“guys that would definitely be higher rated if they didn’t play in FL bro.” If we sign 25 kids, 14 of them need to be 4* or better or we aren’t competing for championships

Let's keep it real if you uave greay coaching you'll win and if we had CMR instead of Golden the whole time it wouldn't matter our class ranking we'd live in the 10 win ACCCG range

Just go back to the threads during the Golden years, people were coming up with the same rationale when he was getting "underrated" 3 stars to commit during 2011/2012.

I've learned my lesson.

Except Golden didnt make anybody better ive almost lost count how many kids have gotten better through coaching here rather then coaching from the last class

Bama and UGA has some elite coaching staffs, with the 4 and 5 star talent and that's what make them good, not just the star recruits...

(Miami has been playing at a high level with not much 4 and 5 star talent, but with really good coaching)

Bama's coaching staff is elite. Wait and See on UGA.

Okay. And how do you ever plan on beating the elite teams (Clemson) if more than half your class is 3 stars and theirs is 4 and 5 stars?

Talent wins out, we saw how big the gap in December. Richt is a good coach, he's not a great one. And that's fine, as long as you can out talent the opponent.

We can in the Coastal this way as we still are pulling in more talent than the rest. But that's not the ultimate goal, at least it shouldn't be.

I trust a local coach or fan of a high school team more than a recruiting service. Someone who is in the know about local football. Anyone know any of these kids and can say they are under rated?

It's only a Al Golden looking class if you don't look at the actual players.

Saying guys like Munoz, Brooks, and Brownlee are the same as some of Golden's reaches is just dumb.

I also want to strangle people who talk about "blue-chip ratio" as some indicator of success. It's a coin termed by a FSU writer to hype up FSU. Might as well just say you need to be Alabama, because that's all it means.
