February 20th Junior Day Attendees

I have been told the #Canes have a very good chance of landing 2018 Coral Gables DB Gilbert Frierson. I was told he is very close with 2018 Miami commit and Colombus DB Josh Jobe.

Jobe is considering to reclassify to 2017 from a source close to his family.

They went to middle school together.

How can Jobe do that at CCHS??

That was what I wasn't sure about. Due to Colombus scholarship program, similar to like Gulliver and STA but that's what I was told.

**** good news! Frierson has to stay home. He, Jobe, Blades, Burns and Samuels Jr. ( I know FSU legacy) would be an insane haul. It's stacking positions like this is what return us to elite status.

In 2018, how does frierson stack up with Blades Jr, Surtain Jr, Samuel Jr and Tyson Campbell??

Just as good. Throw in Josh Jobe 2018 commit from Colombus and Dominick Watt from McArthur in 2018 in that discussion as well.

I pretty much just check the board for recruiting updates since I live in MO. Any chance someone could group these guys into players with:

Great Chance (Favorite)
Good Chance (High on the list, but another program has equal chance)
Some Chance (on the list, but another program is the favorite)
Longshot (Receptive, but has roots with another program. Would be quite a surprise pull if that program offers him)

Great Chance at Blades Jr., Samuel Jr., Frierson and Jobe(already committed)

Good to Great chance for D.Watt.

Good chance for Campbell.

Longshot to some chance for Surtain Jr.

2017 Stanford Samuel is a FSU legacy. 2018 Asante Samuel is not.

Thomas Burns outside of track still needs to prove himself his junior and senior year.

That's Stanford Samuels III from 2017 you are speaking of.

Asante Samuel Jr. Has been a cane lean for quite some time. I've heard his father would really like for him to play here. FSU is a contender for his services though.

I think that both are from the Grove. Both would be big time. IIRC, Jobe won't be able to finish out his senior season if he doesn't reclassify.

Quick Fact:

Jobe was a MaxPreps sophomore all-American this past season along with Asante Samuel Jr.

You guys can hold me to this, but skills wise as of now, Josh Jobe is the best DB nationwide in his class. In this new age, he is every coaches dream. That DB class will be stacked, hope we take a massive number of DBs, Frierson, Jobe, Samuels, Blades, Campbell, I hope are all canes. Also, watch for Johnson from Jacksonville Trinity(doubt he goes to FSU after what happen to his brother) and also watch for Surtain Jr(Rumph lobbied for his father to get the head coaching job at Heritage).

This retarded for real.

For lineman I am fine with having height floors.

But flat out saying to a group of recruits. We look for 6'+ WRs to get on the field...

Skill positions size doesn't really matter at college level. Some of the very best are sub 5'10". Bruce like 5'7" & he will be a baller.

I wonder if because they've taken a few under 6ft that they are currently targeting this and if your under 6 they will take a good look if you fit the other intangibles.

This. I took it as that's what they're looking for in THIS class. As in 2017. Not something they're always looking for

Great Chance on Watt......

Lock up Campbell and you have A1 plus size dbs... all of those kids are over 6'1 180 right now.

Surtain JR likely heads to some sec school...seen him alot solid to good player....plus size...NO DOG in him right now. Which wasnt needed as he wasnt a leader or anything on last years heritage team...he likely comes into it as he is needed or more so now that his dad is head coach.. I like Campbell better regardless.
