Fall Practice Summary- Day 7

This is why I told yall I think the offense is gonna have to carry us early season till defense gels. Especially because the safeties gotta play some together. As basic as sheldrick was you cant overstate the significance of a unit playing besides each other for such a long time. That cohesion is critical.
Kind of sobering. I like Enos' style. Looking forward to him stepping up to this challenge...

I can only speak for myself. After so many porsts you're on automatic ignore...

so you must ignore yourself?

anyways, yes, the best passer isnt the best QB, but the hope is that one of the three do separate themselves greatly in the scrimmages. if JW is the most consistent and accurate of the 3, i hope he performs as much in the scrimmages. they've all kinda been a mixed bag in 11 v 11 so far (that we know of but i say to listen to 5 rings cast bc they do mention the routes that they saw run for each qb in the 11 v 11)

this. if were just going by these reports, its clear that Jarren is the best of the bunch. well see how they look in the scrimmages. last year we all clamored for an accurate QB and jarren might be it if he can do it in the scrimmages.
Accurate with no pass rush during warmups is different than accurate in a real game where guys get flustered and take hits in their face, which is why analyzing warmups is really stupid. Art Pickowski looked like a world beater in warmups.

agreed. i honestly dont know if the QB is on the roster, but i hope one of them can beat UF. just from what i heard on podcasts, I'm pretty nervous on if any of them will beat UF combined w our crap OL. hopefully im wrong tho. 8/24 cant come soon enough

I think the Oline piece is why Tate wins it. Based on reports, he can see things better/quicker than the others to make the calls and his feet are better at getting out of trouble than the other 2. It's just a matter of Enos tailoring it to his strengths (or whoever wins it)

If our offense was built around 15 yard outs and comebacks, Tate wouldn't be the best choice.

Gotta give Perry absolute credit for turning his **** completely around. He’s battling. Hope he doesn’t go in the tank if he doesn’t win the job, as I’ll be surprised if we don’t see the second QB.
What buddy failed to mention is that was a punishment. He wasnt doing this out of sheer desire. He did it because he was punished.

His comment was about 1 on 1's which are going to favor the WR so much and the safeties are obviously not gonna look as good as the corners in the drill. He went on to say they played well in 7 on 7 action.

Disagree. Diaz put a good defense on the field in 2016 with 2 new starters at safety and DT. 2 of the top 3 corners was safeties and had 3 true freshmen starting at LB. Defense should be fine.

I'm not sure where people are getting their 11 vs. 11 info from. All I'll say is Manny has been much friendlier than Richt at letting NFL scouts observe fall practices (which they appreciate), & the narrative people on this board isn't matching what the scouts are seeing.

We should. Time to separate the men from the boys. You gotta risk it for the biscuit. We all know injuries are a concern, but you can’t let that get in the way of figuring out who truly gives us the best chance to win on 08/24.
I don't think it's the right thing to do even though you'd gain valuable information about your QB's. This risk is too high. All is takes is one missed block and your season is done. The same thing that happened to Jack Allison can happen to any or all 3 of our QBs.

Just going to have to ride with the simulated rush drills they do. In the scrimmages, the defenders will be in the QBs faces, but just won't tackle them.

What are they seeing?

i agree. i dont think our offense will shine in that game esp that early on w the QBs adjusting to new things and obvious elephant being the OL. our d is gonna have to carry us with the O doing just enough. hopefully im wrong tho and the QBs start lighting it up in the scrimmages (any one of them idc which).
This is why I think Tate starts game 1 because can improvise the best. I would not be surprised if he is surpassed by someone else in the first few games after that
