Fall Practice Summary - Day 1

In an open race, Summer has and always will play a major role as to who opens up with the 1's. It doesn't mean much by week two though. Let it play out and enjoy...

Why's Martell at 1st team? He didn't get there in the Spring? His overall Spring performance was not the best. N'kosi won the QB MVP in the Spring, but Summer was weighted more going into Fall camp? I'm not hating on Martell. He doesn't make the decisions for the team. I just don't want this to be a Justin Fields situation where the QB job was handed to him and lip service to everyone else.

What I didn’t like last year watching N’Kosi was how lackadaisical he was. I prefer my QB to have moxie and leadership. I see Tate Martell having that Baker Mayfield attitude on the field and I like it better personally.

Obviously you have to be able to make plays and run the offence, but Tate seems to be more of a Football guy. I’m not sure how much I would trust N’Kosi based on some of the stories from his first 2 years in the program.

What is wrong with your reading comprehension? Manny and others said that Tate started with the first team BECAUSE HOW HE PERFORMED IN THE SUMMER. doesn't mean he wins the starting QB role.

U can go ahead and lock Brooks in for that starting LB spot in 2020. Kid is a Manny LB.

Where is the alternative for Herbert then? Because Campbell looked far worse in the spring game and got whipped by the speed rush too. Hopefully herbert takes that next step. If he doesn’t , assuming Nelson starts at left tackle we can possibly move scaife to right tackle and put Cleveland reed as the starting right guard

That's where I'd lean as well. I think the middle of our line should be Donaldson - Gaynor - Reed.

Im pretty sure it was @LuCane that was saying Malik had moxi/balls that helped him in our 10-3 season. Confidence is huge for a qb especially when we r down or the momentum is against us

I'm making a big deal out it? You have CIS and all the media showing Martell as the #1 QB. So excuse me if I question how he got to #1 over the unofficial Summer. So, you're telling me he got there based on weight room work because everything else is player organized and I can't see how coaches could evaluate player run activities to move a guy to 1st team.

I will roll with whomever wins the job. I just want it to be won on the field and for it to be clear an decisive.

It’s one day but I want to say something these guys are evenly matched QBs they all do some things well that the other doesn’t. There is not a single all around stud QB that can do it all in that group. I’m mentioning this because it’s not gonna be that clear and it’s going to be a Judgement call.
