I visisted Eugene for 3 days. That town was about as dead as could be. Absolutely zero nightlife. Apparently everyone just stays home and smokes weed. The facilities are nice, no doubt about that but the Ducks have been successful recently because of Chip Kelley. However, they NEED those facilities or else no decent recruit from outside of 100 miles would sign there because it is a boring laid back city.
The same game goes for all the SEC schools. Have any of you been to Starksville, Fayetteville, etc? Those places are awful!!!!!!! Everyone focuses on the 10 days a year when they play in a large stadium but you don't think about the other 340 days when life sucks.
Miami will always have a shot because of local talent and because the city of Miami is huge draw. It is a cool place to go to college. A great academic insitituon. When the NCAA cloud lifts and we have a good season, the tides will greatly turn in our favor...as if they havent already.
