Facilities - Oregon

Like I wrote in the WEZ, we need some Arab money. That **** isn't an issue w/ them. Let them get into a ****ing contest w/ Nike.... They'll probably win

Whats crazy is Uncle Phil just spent millions on creating his own forest of huge timber trees around the football stadium to give it it's own unique appeal. Its crazy how much he gives including recently a legacy gift of over 120 million. Wish our Canes had a similar type of alum but Miami 10x better the location than Eugene

I'd settle for boosters who just want to win, instead of being obsessive little losers who are trying to make a buck or feel cool via our program/players. If I ever become a millionaire who donates significantly to the U, I'll be happy to watch practices and witness wins on game day.

Besides, looking at those "luxurious" facilities makes me think of that scene in Scarface when he first talks about the new boss:

"That guy's soft. The booze and the concha tell him what to do."

Something seems to be missing in all those photos. Can't put my finger on it.

My uncle is an Oregon alumni and booster/donor, he is not a fan of this stuff because of the bold above.

To the board that creams when they see this stuff, Oregon wasn't having success because of the facilities. It helps with recruiting (to kids influenced by this BS) but weights don't lift themselves.

Some of the stuff is unnessacary, but I like the weight room, positional meeting rooms and team meeting rooms.

Agree with many of the points made, but it's naive to assume the money doesn't make a difference. Look at the rise of Oregon and OK State....seem to coincide with billionaire benefactors writting fat checks. Sure they haven't won titles etc but they are on the upswing.

Few kids would give Oregon a second look if it wasn't for all this cool factor. Culture is clearly a big part of success, but that's on the coach/staff/players....facilities are gravy, but **** that's nice gravy lol.

Weights don't lift themselves but neither do kids that chose not to go to Oregon before they got all these facilities. No Eau that this doesn't help the program
