F- the Gators

I hate this place...from a Gator fan perspective, what are your thoughts on the UM/UF game (or lack thereof) regarding recruiting? Is the majority of your fanbase in favor of a 9th sec game or more of looking to continue scheduling whomever they choose?

I would think coming to SFL and playing football would be a high priority for any FL school...to keep a recruiting presence. What are your thoughts?
The 9th game is going to happen and if it does the Miami game will go I think the fans would prefer every game be a big game but it doesn't make sense from an AD and business perspective. You need a certain amount of homes games a year.

From a coaching perspective no way Muschamp wants to play 9 games in the SEC plus FSU and then add Miami that would be the hardest schedule in the country every year.
Next year the UM game is probably UF's 5th hardest game while UF is UM's most difficult game.

UF doesn't need it from a recruiting stand point. If we win in the SEC and continue to send good recruiters like T Rob and Joker (laugh all you want now) UF will get theirs in SoFla. If anything the game might hurt UF recruiting. What game would fill up your stadium for a big recruiting weekend this year if UF wasn't on your schedule?

lulz

Ao much arrogance in this post. And yet, you'll still never catch up to us in titles.

South Florida will always produce better athletes than north florida. Miami will always out-recruit UF in South Florida. Therefore, you guys will always be just a little less talented than we are.

We might be young and rebuilding lately, but when we meet next year, the Miami squad will have more talent, more future NFL players on it than UF's roster.

If it wasn't for your conference, UF would have ZERO bragging rights at all. So you better keep hiding behind it.

I dont know what to tell you I was just stating what is going on not bragging about anything.
You really believe Miami has more talent than UF?
When do you think Miami will have a better recruiting class than UF?
You realize UF is one of the reasons the SEC is so strong right?

It's not just me that thinks so, ESPN does too.

Who have you pulled out of South Florida in the last couple years? Bostwick? Good for you... one guy. Dalvin Cook will flip before it's all said and done.

UF is one of the reasons the SEC is strong? Only if you're living in the past. UF doesn't play anyone outside the SEC... except FSU, who have owned you for like 3 years in a row up until last year's game.

FSU looked like a better team than you in last year's game anyway, it just broke for you in the end as games sometimes go.

Louisville handed you your *** in front of the whole country. Must be proud of that one.

LOL, Bama might have issue with your last statement. Since Tebow left, you've been very pedestrian, plain and simple. Your lack of ability to maintain your elite status shows the flaws in your program. You have two reasons for your success, luck and Tebow.

Oh and Urban, and fact is he saw what was coming and bolted "for his health".
why would Bama have a problem with that statement? I said one not all
Last year was a pretty good year

UF beat FSU last year
The team got to a BCS bowl

If Miami goes 11-2 beats FSU and loses in a BCS bowl would that be a successful season?

Does Florida even have one good offensive player? Honest question. I know they have good defensive players, but based on what I know I would take UM's defense over Florida's offense. The thing about it it is Miami has a very lackluster d from what we saw last year but they may improve. So rational thinking would tell you that yes Miami is more talented than Florida. Way better coach at UM too.

Cool so teams have a disadvantage for not being in the SEC, and after the 9 game schedule no one will even be able to play them/beat them.

SEC Profits

Actually, the way it will go is once Miami or USC or a big 10 team rise to dominance, and the SEC isn't playing anyone outside the SEC, the conference will go back to being regional. Nobody outside the south wants to watch Georgia or Alabama or Louisiana State or South Carolina if they aren't on some incredible run like they are right now.

Things will go back to balance soon enough. It's just a weird era where everyone else is down and the SEC is the only game in town at the moment.

Yeah I'm sure UF hasn't wanted anyone from South Florida in the last couple years. Cool story.

You're talking big after one lucky year, but two years ago your record was what... 7 wins? Recruiting rankings don't matter. Sending players to the NFL is the biggest measure of how talented a team is, and UM constantly sends more than UF does, last year being the exception.

We're a young team, but we're accustomed to more success than UF. That's why we have more rings, more conference championships, more players in the NFL, and that's why we have a winning record against UF.

Again, the only thing UF has going for it is the conference you're playing in. You're riding on Alabama's coattails. Congratulations.

Big 10 spends just as much. There's more parity than you think. Clemson and Louisville kind of proved it last year by beating UF and LSU.

Fair enough, but you have to admit you're teams run ended as soon as one guy left. The inability for a program with your resources to maintain elite status is frankly a joke, and I'm not just bashing.
Miami won national titles before UF even won their own conference for God's sake!!
UF has a cute little run of a few years to crow about and that's it. Miami was dominant for decades, **** even FSU was highly ranked for a decade.
Florida has reached Texas status, ton's of money, tons of boosters and not a lot to show for it.

The SEC brand is a cash cow right now, so to see them succeed is to see the NCAA making great profits. Nobody supports a team better than a hillbilly.

So you dont agree with Ernie McCracken? You think UF has a ton of great things going for the football team. It was more than just Tebow a lot of talent was on those teams. We will see what happens in the future but if people are saying you are down after going 11-2 and a BCS bowl then you have a pretty strong program.

That would be irrational because we are talking about this years teams not last years..... Miami returns more starters, has more experience. Florida lost a great deal of starters. Your biggest offensive threat was running the football, you lost your best back. Your passing game is non-existent. There is not one position Miami got weaker at. You must be a real slow one fella.

not at all you must not know how many people played on last year UF's team despite not starting. Who was Mike Gillislee before last year? Matt Jones will replace him no drop off

I am from the Tampa Area Matt Jones will not be as good as Mike.

UF has money and boosters, just like Texas, can they make that translate to wins, seems to be the lingering question. You have to be honest you got embarrassed by Louisville and your season almost imploded with what should have been a loss to ULL. The record looks good on paper, but that's about it.

Not too many other teams can say they lost in a BCS game last year. Interesting you talk about the low points but not about the high ones like beating LSU Texas A & M and FSU. Those wins look good anywhere.

Yeah, last year most of our team were freshmen. Two years ago Miami sent more kids to the league than UF. We're not even talking about Ed Reed and Ray Lewis... that wouldn't be fair to you.

Miami is a notch above Florida. The only times Florida can compete is when Miami is down for some reason. Seriously, all you guys have is the SEC. Admit it.

If you had any balls at all, you would let Miami and FSU in to the SEC and all three teams would play each other every year. But you don't. I understand.
