Crazy a few months ago we were all down about the running game. We’ve progressed here as a team. Defense also picked up on Saturday albeit against a mediocre Wake team. We are getting better, hopefully we are now starting to hit our stride
I'll eat somewhat crow, even though i even said back then I'd wait til wk 7 to flip out.

The line has gotten better, the rbs have gotten better, and the playcalling has somewhat expanded (albeit a small amount). They've improved. It will be needed if we make the CFP. Hope it translates.

5.5 ypc is the Mendoza line for a RB being good or not (QB's skew overall team rushing metrics)

All 4 of our Top 4 RB's have averaged 5.5+ ypc only 3 times in the last 30 years

2024 (Currently - TBD)
2018
1998

What the RB's are doing as a whole this year is really pretty special (even though it might not feel like it)

He checked down when he needed to against Wake. Not sure what happened on the one sack they got. They did not show replay. That play looked messed up from the get go, but again not sure what happened there and if he could have checked down.

He missed a wide open Fletcher right in front of him near the WF goal line and almost threw a pick in the EZ trying to throw back against his body like he does too much. Think it caused us to have to settle for a FG while the game was still close in the first half?

I love him as our QB but some of the things he's doing in CFB won't do well in the NFL, imho.

Yep that was a big miss right there and could have been a disaster. He was actually on target to Williams, so the throw was good. Problem was Williams was blocking.

We average more yards per carry as a team (5.4) than any team in the ACC, SEC or Big 10.

Overall, we’re tenth nationally behind some G5 teams, Notre Dame, Kansas State and UCF.

And of course, we’re the best passing team in college football.

It is an eye-opening stat, especially for the fans that haven't been watching the games carefully.

Martinez is almost at 750 yards, Fletch is at 500 yards. Jordan Lyle just broke 350. We are at 2,000 yards rushing AS A TEAM right now, with games remaining to be played.

Assuming Miami beats Syracuse, we would have AT LEAST 3 more games in 2024 for guys to add to their stats.

It is entirely possible that we have a 1,000 yard rusher (not very common at Miami) IN THE SAME YEAR that our QB sets the all-time single-season passing yardage record at UM.

Truly impressive.

Miami would return 4 guys who have started games for next season. Cooper, Bell, Francis, McCoy. I’d assume Rivers is leaving after this year. Maybe Rodriguez fills in for Carpenter at C.
